This. Minuet and Gauss Barrel (more so Minuet) separates the wheat from the chaff. A good bard doesn't have to move all the time, and the only issues it has are the clash between Minuet and the River of Blood trait (can be fixed by allowing stacks so you don't really miss a reset), and Empyreal Arrow clipping into the GCD unless you use Feint or a Straighter Shot proc. That's it.

They're not, really. Physick is your primary heal skill, but you'll get Adloquium at like level 30 or so, and it's a weaker potency heal than Physick but it's gives a shield that is equal to the amount healed, unless it crits, in which case the shield is 2 times the amount healed.

Eos' Embrace is a 300 potency heal IIRC, while Physick is 400 potency and Adlo is 300 potency. Eos heals whenever someone drops below 70 or 80% of their total hp, or if you macro her, she'll heal on command regardless of HP. Eos also has Whispering Dawn which is the only AoE heal you get until Succor at 35.

Adlo before pulls or before tankbusters, Physick for primary solo heals, and Eos as constant back-up heals. This dynamic changes a bit once you've got a better feel for the job, but if this is your first healing job, then stick to the basics for now.

The fairy will top people off and do the lion's share of your healing. Try to trust it. Once you get rouse its heals will be a lot more powerful. Use your own healing/mitigation skills to buy yourself time in clerics stance to DPS, or when it's absolutely necessary to prevent someone from dying. In 8 man content the WHM/AST will keep the party's health topped off via regens, think of the fairy as providing that on a smaller scale. It can handle a lot though, don't be afraid to just let it ride during a trash pull or a boss fight where you don't have a retarded tank that actually uses their cooldowns

I play BRD, and I find the main "problem" with WM isn't the lack of mobility, its the fact that, compared to MCH, the skills and the procs don't line up nicely with each other with WM active.

Look at MCH's 1-2-3 combo. The procs line up nicely, you can visually register them before the GCD comes off, and they sync up without having to wait for something to come off CD. They can use Reload/Quick Reload to guarantee procs, and have skills to buff the combo when procs happen.

In comparison, BRD's "combo" for procs is a Straight Shot proc into Empyreal Arrow/Bloodletter. But, both of those should also be weaved in when they're up. So, if Straight Shot procs, and nothing follows with it, you're sitting there with dead rotation. Nothing feels fluid at that point.

BRD doesn't need to lose WM, and doesn't need mobility. They need something to weave in with those empty Straight Shot procs.

I find that MCH feels more static and blocky than fluid because it has to wait on procs, while BRD is more organic and keeps you on your toes with its timers and River of Blood. From that, I find the bow and arrow to be far more fluid than the gun and turret.

BRD doesn't have a rotation to begin with. It only has a priority system. I can see how Straighter Shot before Empyreal Arrow can be a bit of a combo, but technically it isn't. It's more of an ideal situation if anything.

I can get down with this, but it would have to play into BRD's current toolkit since having more actions will create a lot of bloat. The River of Blood trait could have a 55% chance of resetting Bloodletter or Rain of Death whenever Venomous or Windbite DoTs crit instead of 50%, and the job could get another trait that allows you to stack repeated use of those two abilities without missing a reset because of a GCD or a bad gamble when turning Minuet off for an auto-attack or TP-efficient movement.

Thinking about resubbing. I left at 3.0 becuse I didn't have the time to play. I have all my DoL and DoH at 50, how long would it take me to get them all to 60? Is it as long as 1-50?

I'm asking for both DoH and DoL, I imagine I can just do the MSQ and get my Tank to level 60 and use welfare tomes to gear up for the best current non-raiding content.

I'm aware it isn't a combo in traditional sense, but it feels like one of the few benefits of having an instant cast SS is to be able to cast one of these other skills with minimal clipping.

I'd say increase RoB chance by a bit like you said, make it proc a bit more often.

Give them a second off-CD, low damage utility spell, similar to Blunt Arrow. Possibly share GCD with Blunt arrow.

Give them a new songm and then a oGCD ability (maybe 2-3 minutes) which allows them to move while casting.

What is it about raiding in this game that is so inaccessible? It seems like on WoW there were countless raiding guilds one could join if they wanted to raid but it seems like raiding here is restricted exclusively to insular statics.

Is the raiding here too hard compared to what WoW has or is it something else? Is it a lack of end game content in general or maybe it's something else?

Is this only a problem on Balmung?

The raid content is much harder than modern WoW content, and the playerbase is a lot smaller. The WoW population that actually completed end game content has always been a minority and I assume XIV has a similar ratio, but there're less groups floating around and necessity keeps them more closed.

To get raiding gear on WoW you actually had to raid and it was BiS for a long time. Gear also had lots of unique looks and stats. FF14 gives you gear almost as good as the current raid teir with almost identical stats just for logging in every week. Everyone's gear looks the same.
