The throwing knife is an objectively bad melee ability because it is slow, arcs, does little damage on hit, does negligible burn damage if you even have that perk equipped, makes you vulnerable through animation delay if you don't hit with it, and has the potential to mess up a close quarters fight if you don't track properly or misjudge the range.

Sure you could claim that super expert god players that use KBM and are vying for a spot on a pro team can make good use of it but where does that put the other 99% of the playerbase? A skill being "useable" by good players does not make the skill good.

ok. i havent played since vanilla. i was looking back at the game and it looks like i can get all of the new content for relatively cheap.a few questions:


1 - what is the best way to get back into the game? should i buy the complete editions for taken king and try to catch up before rise of iron, or should i just wait and get the complete edition? ideally i would like to play before rise of iron.

2 - how have the classes worked out for balance? i played a hunter in vanilla with solar/gun for raids and arc/blade for pvp. how do the new specs look? how do they all stack up against each other now that there has been some balancing?

3 - when i stopped playing, i was relatively well geared. i was completing the first raid on normal within a few weeks of release, but never ended up getting to the level cap before there was any new content. how will this translate into the game reworks?

any other suggestions? thanks in advance for anyone willing to provide some help.

1: Buy the Collection, gets you everything from september onwards, RoI is not avaible yet, but be patient

2: Titans are top dog atm, Hunters are definitely at their weakest right now, level up Nightstalker (the new class) early if you are commited to your main though, since it's the most helpful for Raids

3: It will take you longer to get to acceptable levels, but story missions can get you to 280 easily, after that, pray some good souls in /dg/ can help you / raid with you.
