Both Pthumerian Descendants are easy if you parry them to death. The later one in Pthumeru Ihyll is a bit more difficult but it's not that hard if you've been leveling normally. It's pretty hard if you stay at a low level like 43 for twinking, but you can say the same for several other bosses.

Is there any way to get to Hypogean Gaol after Rom? My first time leading up to the snatcher enemy who takes you there, I didn't die to him. Later found out that dying to him takes you somewhere, but the snatcher enemies don't show up for me anymore.

What's a good method for farming twin bloodstone shards? I know a number of monsters that drop them but only rarely or there's not a great way to take them out rapidly (snake balls, bag men, saw a wolf drop it exactly once). I want to make a ton of weapons into +6 and play around for a while with them before I start spending my VERY limited chunks to make +7 and up.

On that note what's a good place for chunks? I heard someone say chalice once but I have no idea which one they were talking about.

Well, after I went in and actually checked it myself it seems either that I was lied to or cocktails work in some specific way with hotdog. I 've thrown around 20 cocktails during different attacks and didn't notice any significant deviation from hotdog's behavior

Twin Shards is either kill the Bagmen in Yharhagul near the lamp. Or Alternativly from the forbidden woods lamp, run up the hill and kill the Hunch-Back beast man, he can drop them as well. Then you can just roll off the cliff to reset.

Chunks are a pain, you can get them from Gargoyeles at Cainhurst (these also drop Twin Shards often) but it's very rare. Werewolves in upper Cathederal ward is OK droprates. Depth 5 (and 4?) Chalice bosses drop them, so what you do is find a glyph with a super quick lever and an easy boss (Brainsucker or Watchers) and run the dungeon over and over. If you are looking for gems you'll naturally accumulate lots of chunks.

If you've reached Byrgonwerth and have the eye runs it helps.

why is bloodborne the best souls game? Is there any chance of FROM going back to the setting or at least making another game based less around blocking and more on dodges?

Because Miyazaki, for one, doesn't like sequels, Bloodborne is a contained story and fine as it is, Dark Souls was a contractual obligation to make sequels which is why they drop in quality.

Secondly, Miyazaki also said it was somewhat outside of his comfort zone. He's a grimderp medieval fantasy guy and that seems to be what he likes doing. He tried horror, I guess it didn't gel that well with him, which sucks, because it's one of the best games I've ever played and one of the best pieces of Lovecraftian fiction of the modern day.

Difficult but doable. The Claw's short range and somewhat slow speed make it hard to hit him while he dodges. It's sort of same trying to fight him without parrying and using Blade of Mercy. Last phase is hell if you have high beasthood, expect to get one-two shotted if he touches you with the scythe.

Turns out R1 spam is a powerful thing, as slow as it is, it does good damage and staggers him well enough. Also found Executioner's Gloves to go very good for quick staggers since they take time to reach him and you can go up to him as they reach him and initiate R1 spam and he can't do squat about it. Truly, the cheesiest thing I have ever done.

Moon Presence didn't last five minutes.

Worst is objectivly the Reiterpalache, except maybe in PVP a rapist just does not suit the setting and feel of the game. Fighting knights and stuff is fine, but attacking beasts and cosmic horrors just looks silly. It gets style points for the cool transformation and gunshot, and makes an excellent side arm. But as a primary weapon it just sucks, I think of it as a gun with some melee attacks, and not the other way around.

It's probably best to kill them. Unequip your lantern (if you have one) and your torch, drink a blue elixir and walk into the room, backstab the naked beastclaws guy, he goes down pretty quick. Then try and draw the remaining two outside and use the various stairs and corners to your advantage. It's tough, but it's doable.

I use Amgydalae because it's, as far as I know, the plural for the actual section of your brain and looks cooler. Fair play, though, the laser one always fucks me up.

When you come back for Ebby-chan, bring some bolt paper and aim only for her head, she takes fucktons of damage there. My first time I fought her, I hugged her back between the two back tails and wailed on her. Took a while, but it pretty much worked. Head attacks are riskier, but quicker.

Also, sorry if this isn't your first playthrough and I sound incredibly patronizing lel

1. Hard to pick, honestly. As a mostly pure PvE-er, probably the Reiterpallasch. I love rapiers, and the moveset is stylish as hell. Dual-wielding guns also feels good.

You could make the argument that the Nightmare, being another dimension, works differently, but nothing of what we've seen in the Nightmare would contradict the idea that a right triangle is still a right triangle. Geometry appears to still be Euclidean.

How deep into dungeons are you?

Ideally you want Nourishing gems which come from Amy, Rom and Gargoyeles. Rom is on Depth 3, but gives super shitty gems. Defiled Amy gives 18%-19% Nourishings. On Depth 5 Prhumuru you can farm Gargoyels for 19% gems or Rom for slightly better ones.

21.5% Nourishings come from Amy in Loran or Isz. Which is why lost Moonlight Blade is seen as the best one.

23% Nourishings come from merciless Watchers, but droprate is probably 1/1000.

I believe for PvP you'd want to put more into Bloodtinge, yes. For PvE it doesn't matter. I'm running a skl/blt in PvE that has 40 in both, it does just fine though it's of course overleveled for the meta.

Skill and Bloodtinge never work at the same time (except visceral attacks, I guess). Having 50 Skill will make Chikage/Bow Blades untricked modes good, but won't do anything for tricked. The opposite is also true, 50 Bloodtinge will make tricked mode amazing while doing nothing for untricked.

So you have to choose. If you leave SKL at 15 and go all out in BLT you can have great damage and an efficient build. But if you want both forms you need to spend many more points.

Alright. Nourishing gems are impossible for you to farm right now. If you've been to forbidden woods swamp-cave you should have a 10% Nourishing Triangle. Use that because there's nothing better atm.

On Lower Pthumuru layer 2 is my good friend Lumpy the Lever Guardian. For reasons unknown this particular Watcher drops cursed gems. It's a easy farm, just roll down the hole, sprint past the alarm ringing guy, past the rat and slime (careful not to get slimed), then up the ladder and sprint to Lumpy ignoring the Halbard guys. Kill him and either run back to lamp or hunters Mark.

I farmed him 50 times for science yesterday and got a lot of good gems. 20.3% Physical is pretty common. You may get a once in a life time drop and get a Nourishing, but don't count on it.

It's not bad, I'm glad they removed durability since the alpha. I don't like diablo loot systems in games though and especially feel like it doesn't fit in a souls-like game. The couple of seconds you take if you fuck up your stamina is a bit too punishing also, especially when enemies can already kill you in 2-3 hits.

But it depends on your playstyle. Saif an R1 spam death machine, Axe's real strengths lie in its transformed mode's wide as fuck attacks. I would personally say Axe just because it's stronger and has that charged R2 for knocking back whole groups of dudes. Normal version is just fine, too, I believe.

Chalice Dungeons are pretty ded but if you're patient you'll get someone eventually. I've only been invaded twice in FRC dungeons and both were nips. Frontier and Mensis are really your only options unless you're Twinking. For Twinks Byrgenwyrth is pretty active, Woods too but not as much. Earlier levels are kinda ded but it's possible to get some action.

Does Bloodborne get its own ochestra to perform at places around the world like Nintendo does with some of their games?

I'd love to be able to hear Ludwig, the Holy Blade live.
