not really I'd say, also after finally beating Logarius with some help from someone, and finishing up the Alfred questline(RIP), decided to give both the Nightmare Frontier and the Hunter's Nightmare some exploration, ironically so far I'd say the Frontier is the harder one of the two(partially cause that damn witch managed to summon two freaking Hunters to go after me simultaneously, managed to kill both though, got killed by a Yeti boulder before I could find my way to the witch to kill her though), the Hunter's Nightmare NPC Hunter's on the other hand have been pretty easy to fight so far(in fact probably the easiest NPC Hunter fights I've had besides maybe Henryk)

also part of the reason why the thread is kinda dead right now might be cause I kinda screwed up making the thread, I forgot to put the Bloodborne General title in the Subject box

I'd suggest going in on NG about bl60-70, with at least a +9 weapon. NG+ first time is definitely possible, but it's a lot more difficult, so I'd recommend NG first.

I keep getting fucked by witches because of their fucking invisibility. I was just searching for them, up on the high catwalk thing, when it did the AOE thing from below me. It knocked me off, and then AOEd again the second I hit the ground. I couldn't even see it until I was dead. Then on my way back I got camera'd by a brute with a brick. I'm so fucking mad right now.

if you want to reach max level i would recomend you just delete your save file and use the dupe glitch in pre-patch Bloodborne.

Even the best Echo Farming spot in the current game takes WAY too long in terms of maxing out your stats.
Descent getting all your stats to 50.
But to 99 i suggest you just dupe.

If you're unspoiled, then the best part of the game is about to begin. Boss there isn't too hard though.

Why are the red eyed hunters respawning?
I thought they were like enemy hunters that don't come back?

You've unfortunately taken the hardest possible route for your first time, anon. Your best weapon will only be found at the end of the DLC. You'll also need to be grinding for the best gems to get the best damage from your spells and weapons.

But it's not possible! There is a guide for a good arc build, but it's pretty spoilery, so I'd honestly recommend just levelling whatever you want and having fun before starting serious builds.

Hunter's Spear

Untricked, medium range stabs and short slashes

Tricked, same quick stabs and slashes, but the L2 makes it so it's fit into an atlatl type device and becomes almost like a harpoon, you charge and throw the spear, and drag an enemy back to you in a staggered state. Costs one quicksilver bullet.

My arcane build has been going pretty nicely so far.

I'm using this Ludwig's Holy Blade which is pretty neato and a Tonitrus, both at +6.

My friend told me to go to the initial area of the DLC to get a Boom Hammer (or something like this) but I dunno if I should since I'm getting raped right off the bat there.

Also, ROM is dead, no more gameboy for him, the fight was the easiest so far, way easier than the one against the 3 faggots in the forest.

The way I understand it, the Boom Hammer is better as a physical weapon, but still, there's no harm in trying it out if you can get really good fire gems for it.

I got it and it's kind of amazing. Not sure if it's better than the Tonitrus.

It has an amazing overpowered charged R2, but the rest is absolute shit, so it's basically a charged R2 exclusive weapon, specially since the buff has one hit only.

The tonitrus can be used normally since it's buff has a simple timer.

That being said, hitting strong mobs with that charged R2 with the boom hammer has just become my favorite thing to do in BB.

The Boom Hammer is immensely fun to use, I like the normal attacks just fine, but that R2 is GREAT. Remember, you can dodge and attack, those are unique moves, as well transform attacks.

When you upgrade it, slot your best fire gems in there, if you're a pure arc build (or the closest you can be on a first playthrough), absolutely try and maximize the fire damage.

Can anyone explain parrying in a way that makes sense, or link me to a video that can? It's the timing. I get the idea, but I don't know what's different between people I've watched video of who make it look easy, and what I'm trying to do. I'm pretty far into the game but I haven't cracked this one.

Parrying enemies is easy, you just shoot them when their attacking is coming at you, or often times right at the end of their windup. Against other players though, that's a crapshoot. If you're hoping to get consistent parries in PvP, you just have to pray the internet connection allows it.

The bullet has to connect when they're swinging towards you so have to get used to the timeing. Sometimes shots will just if you're standing at an akward position relative to the enemy

Parry timing is different for every enemy, and different for every move on top of that. A big part of it is shooting when you feel it will parry, and if it doesn't, adjust your timing and try again. You could practice on, say, the axe guy in Central Yharnam. Just shoot him a lot, try to get parries but don't go for the visceral.

Funnily enough, the lickers there aren't nearly as tough as their Cainhurst counterparts for some reason. They can be tough, and especially there in such a tight spot because they spam their blood shot attacks and stunlock you to death or you get killed by the rapid poison build up.

But physically, they're actually weaker. You can just about run past them anyway.

My latest build was a low-level Executioner, running 25/25 str/arc at BL56. Use him for invading in Cainhurst and the invasion rate is actually super quick, provided it's the right time of day. At that low of level with nourishing gems, you can use both forms of the Wheel with good efficiency, and if you need to, you can still whip out the 600 damage dash attack spam.

HMS has two/three scaling. STR ARC and SKL.

I use it in my quality 40/25 STR/SKL and base of 14ARC. With nourishing gems it's amazing in tricked and untricked forms.

Only a 50Arc build, beams do massive damage. But that's all they do in ARC, doesn't add a whole lot of swing/weapon damage, purely beam damage.

The sword benefits from high Arcane all around, it's just that the beams only benefit from Arcane. Even one-handed with 25 Strength and 12 Skill it'll still hit hard if you have 50 Arcane. Two-handed benefits from Arcane more than untricked just like the Wheel, and it's devastating if you hit with both the sword and beams at the same time.

My main problem is, that I can't find a good way to dodge the placenta-juice-projectiles in phase two, the ones he throws while jumping. It seems every time it's completely random if I get hit or not.
