I don't remember about carbonweave or Ironworks but there are a few blueprints that require certain materials that can only be found in The Diadem.
Retribution Staff is a Diadem-only fish that people cook for raiding.
Pterodactyl is used to make certain eyes, only only found in The Diadem.

Is it viable to play SCH or any healer for that matter on controller? I can fit the skills on my hotbars but going up and down on the dpad to scroll the party list to get to who you want to heal seems like it would take too long in a raid scenario.

You can get carbonweave made for really cheap, that's what I use because the highest level stuff I craft is food. If I was planning on making i250 shit in 3.4 I would get ironworks though. I think you might be able to make ironworks crafting stuff with carbonweave or melded i150, but you might need a few HQ mats or to get super lucky with good/excellent procs.

Urchin Loaf or Apple Strudel are the higher ends, Staff doesn't have accuracy and has a worthless SkS bonus. Cheaper accuracy food for healers would probably be Pirpira Pira or Sweetfish. If, for whatever reason, you aren't using accuracy food, probably Hot Chocolate, Frozen Spirits, Cider, or Ishgardian Tea (super cheap to make).

The way I see if is crafting in it's current form is a pyramid scheme. You either jump through hoops getting to the next tier of gear to craft the next tier yourself or you just put down a little gil to skip the hoop entirely on the hopes that someone after you will buy your own crafted gear. Carbonweave is just essentially just a waste of the most valuable resource in the game for high level crafters; time.

Most melee value crit about twice as much as SKS, so I can see your point, but the less Vitality and higher cost of Staff barely makes up for about 3 secondary stats worth of an increase.

The 3* 60 mats take me like 2-3 minutes each to pop out and I need 2-5 of them for each completed craft along with random master 1 crafts that take another minute to grind out on top of the actual craft itself which takes another 3 minutes. I did the math once and it worked out to almost 20 minutes to craft some dude a crafting tool with my blacksmith, it's incredible how much time things take in this game. Maker's Mark is the worst idea anyone has ever come up with in crafting.

the tradeoff is time for stability with maker's mark. a slower rotation for something that's a little more cp efficient.
I usually just stick to ig2 rs because it's so much faster, still quite flexible, and you really only need hq mats if either undergeared or trying to macro 3*.

Macroing 3* mats on really works with a shitload of CP and adding in some HQ base mats. I can get about a 90% HQ rate with 2700 quality, but at the same time I could have sold the HQ base mats for more profit than an NQ 3* mat. If I just manually craft with maker's mark I can get a nearly 100% HQ rate with NQ mats but it takes like double the time and I actually need to pay attention. If you're talking about the debuff in game you can actually use a /soothe or /comfort to cure it.

Why can't we have a single difficulty, unified raid tier like we had for Coil? Something still challenging, but approachable for most midcore players without being ridiculously obtuse (A3S, A4S, A8S).

And then on the odd-numbered patch, they release the Savage mode which like Second Coil Savage, is a Nightmare-tier difficulty with super strict checks, but is on a separate lockout and rewards titles, minions, and a mount for clearing all four.

the mitigating factor for me is retainer slots.
so you could hq some, try to sell them, but it's not a guaranteed sale yeah.
I only macro 3* stuff when its bulk crafts if hq's easily gotten/low time use. I did these loaghtan via macro, which was ~7% nq rate I think? Around 130 nq to 1.8k hq, with only hq butter. If we're talking like, ironworks stuff, I just bulk nq stacks of all the pre-req mats like eikon leather + cloth, and then manually craft it. It saves so much time. Even then, macroing the hq butter is only like 25s/craft, and you can do it with a controller in the background while you shitpost or watch stuff.

Rising is usually a very well made event. Last year's one was probably the best event the entire year. I am honestly hoping for another Dev's Room visit and some hints of the future, but I know it wont happen because fucking Fanfest. Your character standing there being surrounded by devs as they thank you was a cool thing.
