Hey tf2 the general I'm watching the tournament and something is bothering me, why aren't the players switching weapons that often? The Soldier players can hit their rockets alright, but when they run out, instead of switching to the shotgun, they just try to reload and most of the times just let the enemy limp away or die. Scouts do that too, where they camp the scattergun when the pistol does some respectable damage.
Can someone help me understand this? Is it just tournament nerves?
I haven't played tf2 in maybe five years.

So I was in Iron HL this season but my team fell apart. While it was together, I was usually on the upper half of the scoreboard, sometimes getting in the top 3 as Pyro. Should I try to do steel or stay iron until I actually go somewhere in it? If I do 6v6s, should I start at Iron no matter what? I just don't wanna be that guy getting too ahead of himself.

I've been mostly in Virginia servers unless I'm queuing up with someone from the west coast, and even then most of the time we get put in Virginia servers. Queue time is absolutely abysmal, though, and it gets worse the more people you play with. Even a 2 man stack takes forever to find a match.
