Not just the colors, but the way the scales are shaped resembles his armor. Unless Orn's armor was just shaped to resemble a dragon, which would kind of make sense except for the lion motif.

There are two weapons in DaS3's unused files with a passing similarity to this dragon, and both imply they're made from a boss soul.

Why did they make Ranged Heavenly Thunder so bad? Heavenly Thunder itself is actually really good, and can melt larger enemies or decimate crowds of smaller ones. If anything, it being ranged gives away you casting it by such a large margin they can just roll twice to escape the AoE. To be honest, if it was good faith would be OP.
Faith builds have the single best keepaway game of all the casting types thanks to how ridiculously good Heavenly Thunder is. It's fast enough to get out when under pressure, strong enough to out-trade ultras and long enough to cast anything you need to while its duration is keeping you safe. If Splintering Spear was fast, then you'd be able to spam it under the cover of HT or scraps and pressure people from afar.

They made it way too fucking bad, but I can understand why they were afraid to make it good considering it's a ranged AoE lingering hitbox

For pve, str/fth is more fun and you'll have more things to use. Faith gets tonnes of toys that feed into the strengths of a melee build. Strongly recommended you kill the dancer early and tackle Lothric castle as soon as you can for the braille tome and access to the sunlight altar. 10 co-op victories for Sacred oath, which is a significant buff in pve. In terms of ultra weapon viability, unbuffable greataxes > UGS > buffable greataxes > shit > greatshields > unarmed > greathammers. Str/fth also gets Wolnir's sword, which is a solid greatsword, though unbuffable.

Anything + faith is hot trash in pvp, though. Most faith-based buffs are penalized against other players and basically offer no benefit whatsoever. Most strength weapons don't mix well with buffs in pvp because being slow and easy to avoid makes your buff very easy to simply time out, and attacking slowly mixes poorly with a buff that adds flat damage regardless of weapontype.

STR/INT has pretty awkward pve synergy because it gets good buffs much later in the game and most of the good pve spells are kinda redundant if you have a jumbo-sized fuckstick. It can work decently in pvp, though, since the best pvp spells are the fast low-damage ones that compliment your fuckstick nicely. Still ends up being a whole tonne of stats you need to put into various things just to end up being weaker than a quality build, though

It's not that they're getting the thrust ABS penalty that you normally get from attacking, they're counted as being in the special unstable state that increases all incoming damage dramatically (iirc it's like 50%). Jumping attacks, jumping itself, having your attack deflect off of the environment, the recovery of a long fall, the ripostable state after a parry or guardbreak, the running attacks of ultra weapons and the recovery of quickstep are the only other times you're in that special state.

Actually, you need the doll to get to Anor Londo, and the Painted World was last seen in Anor Londo. You'll probably need to reach Aldrich either way.

Unless you're using hollow weapons, Warrior wastes a lot of points in luck over knight that hurt its efficiency

Hmm, I see. Even on my UGS build though I didn't need to invest in Vitality so to me it seems it is only relevant in the very specific case where you want to use a heavy weapon AND heavy armour.

The Attunement and Vit really just seems like a waste to me on Melee builds so I don't think I'll every pick anything other than Mercenary or Warrior (or Thief for Bleed).
