I don't think they've matched Starless but I like most of em.
Lewdness is a personal favorite, but a tonne of people seem to hate that. Some of the H-scenes were real novel, and god damn they were hot, but given that it's literally the exact opposite of Starless (maledom, rather than femdom), I can see why it's not so popular with fans of that.

I can't see why anybody who liked Starless wouldn't like DominancE though, they're basically the same game with a different setting. DominancE even had an ending where you got to overthrow Not-Marie and Not-Marisa, so it's a one-up on Starless there.

P/A is pretty shite though, I can see why people hate that, it's almost entirely vanilla, and that's hardly the appeal of Empress games. It did have a really nice engine and the 1080p art was fantastic (see pic related), but it had the two worst character designs as the main heroines, and the decent character designs only got a few scenes, and the game had far too many non-H CGs.

Closed Game was a step back in the right direction though. Same beautiful 1080p art as P/A, but not wasted on non-H images and boring vanilla scenes. It did have some really fucking weird structure though, like the individual character routes are very similar, and there are literally five variants of the same scene with Celine at one point which is just an absurd waste of CGs.

I really hope they're working on something new, because this DMM game is trash.

I can understand that. Discipline and Starless were both pretty grounded in reality, and BB while a little fantasy, still took place in a school and was fairly normal. This goes all out, space setting, crazy crossbreed cow-pig aliens, a futa that can make her dick disappear and reappear at will, lots of crazy high tech machines in scenes, and a really shitty looking tentacle monster.
Its character designs were also really hit and miss, the MILF character has the dumbest fucking hairstyle imaginable, and Tomoko, the purple twintails girl was a repeat of the bland character Mitarai had in Starless (though she had some fantastic scenes). Iriza and Ami were fucking great though.
