He's actually a phenomenal Cu Alter or Herc counter.

Yes, he's reliant on his team to generate the crit stars, but that's just how Quick teams work. Most crit Servants rely on solid teambuilding with the only exceptions pretty much being Saber Lancelot and maybe Okita.

Go back in time with EMIYA and Medusa, and prevent the fifth grail war from going to shit by stopping the ritual, except somehow they fuck it up much worse along the way. Medusa uses some plot device to save Sakura, like getting Gudao to summon some particular servant to heal her, maybe Dr.P. Meanwhile Archer convinces the other masters to not keep going with the war, and he ends up fighting himself.

I'm just saying somehow they fuck it up so we end up fighting Angya.

Rin lost that fight; she BP'd Zelretch's dagger in order to get within range of Dark Sakura, all Rin had left was a plain metal knife. We've seen Sakura resurrect herself from being chopped into three pieces by Gilgamesh a few nights prior to that. She was decapitated and still survived, a knife can't kill her. She had her shadow tendrils active as well, at the very best it would be a double kill. Rin lost, but she did the only thing she could have done to end things correctly, by making Sakura remember her humanity, rather than trying to launch a futile attack.

The only thing she had that could maybe kill Sakura was Zelretch's dagger, by using it to blow away every part of her at once. But Rin couldn't get close while still having the dagger.

Being infused and corrupted by Angya Manyu isn't a toy, she became a monster similar to Gorgon Medusa. Kind of like demon Akiha as well, a human warped by inhuman essence. Except in Akiha's case its just part of her normally. When Saber Alter became blackened, that wasn't her picking up an item that could be taken away at a moments notice, that was her being horribly warped to be a monstrous hero.

As Rin says, Sakura's control of shadow is a natural affinity, normally it shouldn't manifest to that degree but it did mesh very well with her alignment to amp it up. The fact that she could control it at all while retaining ego isn't normal.

I started the game right before Part 1, and now I'm stuck on the mecha boar final boss with a level 30ish team. I've leveled Hassan (NP2) and Kojiro to 35 and 30, but can only get the boss down to 1/2 HP or so before dying. Ass Scat might help if I level her, but her NP is multi-target.

The other plan I tried yesterday was replaying the fight over and over in hopes that Hassan's instakill would eventually work. Since it's a 5AP quest you can tread water all day, but it's a big timesink.
