In Counter Strike there is really no skill other than memorization, and with enough time you'll be able to feel good about trashing other players by investing more time. This is called a skinner box in psychology.

Game developers and the psychologists and behavioral annalists they employ realized these things and that's why you have things like the giant, prolonged and unskippable "Victory" or "Defeat" forced in your face after every game, very similarly to League, CoD, etc, basically any big name team game.

The "give mes" in Overwatch are the guaranteed ultimates you will have at least once every match, and also having eliminations only be participation and not KB.

These games are literally designed to make you feel good for cucking the enemy team, they are not made to be competitive which is why they have to force money into the competitive scene and marketing to make it seem otherwise.

Well beside the very obvious one of anyone who died to someone knows exactly what their ult percentage is at. If you just look at someone and see what they are doing, you have a general idea of when they have ult.

As someone who plays a shit ton of Reinhardt and therefore ends up playing against a bunch of other Reinhardts, one of the most important things in a match is knowing when the other Rein has his ult and baiting him into using it into your shield. I'll count every fire strike hit and ask my friends to tell me what his ult is at if they die.

The counter to Roadhog is not trying to take him down alone. Roadhog wins 1v1s because that's what he's designed to to, but if you put him in the middle of a team fight he's just a big meat blob that can land a kill or two at best. He's weaker in a 2v2 than a 1v1, weaker in a 3v3 than a 2v2 and so on.

Roadhog is a threat if you're off wandering halls on your own because he can catch you off guard and snag you. In these situations, your best bet is to be listening for his loud ass footsteps and to be ready to dodge the hook and either finish him off or run away.

I get why people hate Roadhog, because getting snagged by his hook is frustrating and he can reliably pick off your team one by one if they're spread out all over the map. The best bet is always coordination, but that's not unique to Roadhog. If you're off trying to land kills on your own, Roadhog can fuck you up, but if everyone on your team is trying to do that at the same time, Roadhog probably isn't your biggest problem.
