even without the helmet blocking shit, the weapon status screen (which you need to watch constantly because the Avenger's main gun overheats in seconds and takes forever to cool down) is way down at cock level. I finally reinstalled SC after 2.5 release and...

it was playable. Wow. I haven't played SC since like 2.0 but I actually had fun.

30 fps stable except for the few hitches here and there, overall clunky keyboard interface for flight because I dont feel like setting up my HOTAS, but certainly flyable and playable.

before I landed I had almost no pitch control, it was super super sluggish and cycling the landing gear didn't help or anything at all, but once I landed and took off again it was perfect, I really liked how it handled.

separate build streams theory:

there are two versions of the game being built from back when the game was being developed in modules, the current pipeline of 3.0, and the FPS module which was never brought into the main game because of whatever reason it was delayed.

so now that its done, they'll merge its code with the current 2.5, then merge 3.0 to that, and from there it should be a consistent pipeline to the ptu/release version.

it also looks like a bunch of 3.0 stuff is still not working yet from the demo, or what was shown was a version with just the things needed for the mission, since they always talk about preparations just for the demo.

this is why 2.6 is only star marine and related FPS stuff,
why we never got any FPS improvements through 2.5,
and why 3.0 is everything else that is in our regular updates.
