I-X is not RNG. It's required. You HAVE to fight a deviant thirtyish times if you want a full armor set. That's terrible. I'm all for making armor take effort to acquire, but for fuck's sake, just design the monster to be a challenging battle instead of making me do an easy one thirty times.

I like Hyper Monsters as an "endgame" alternative to G-Rank, but I think they could have done a lot better with the concept.

Like I think it's really interesting that the 'hyper spots' move around from part to part on the monster, and that different attacks are keyed to different body parts and get stronger depending on where those spots are, but neither of those things have a very big effect on how you fight the monster, because (AFAIK) the spots just fill your HA gauge faster without changing hit zone vulnerabilities, and the buffed attacks don't really seem to make enough of a difference that you're suddenly more concerned about claw swipes or tail swings on a monster that primarily bites you, or vice versa.

My kill time on a Nargacuga as Guild was within one minute of Striker Sword, and the Sword run was far ore efficient. I switched equally between Axe and Sword for Guild. It's not meant to be used on its own.

The underlying problem is that sword is so easy to run with the entire hunt, now that energy charge is a thing, and like you said, Demon riot makes it even easier and more powerful.

Axe mode has potential, and it's not worthless. But compared to sword mode the damage and moveset is overall weaker/slower.

Do you know what weapon concept is? When Gunlance was introduced, surely in the mind of the creator, it would be a weapon that can poke (like lance) and shoots shell (Gun). There. Now, in the implementation, it was revealed that the shelling part is inferior than the poke part. And this circumstance was happening for several generations. Now, in Gen, they added Dragon's breathe, which could potentially be a buff for both playstyle. BUT, in the process they reduced the base shelling damage instead of keep it the same let alone increasing it. That makes the shelling playstyle even worse than the previous game.

I've killed hyper astalos over 10 times and each times I have completed the subquest which gives me a 45% chance of a hyper charged shell drop & and another 25% on the 2nd roll of rewards.

I have yet to obtain a single hyper charged shell. Is kiranico inaccurate? Am I farming the wrong monster?

They need to be updated. The tail sweeps need to become something more than gentle caresses; I want to feel some power behind those tails. Glavenus throws his whole body into a tail slam. Their charges are so slow and meandering. I hate to bring up more Gen flagships, but look at Astalos. His body charge is fast, powerful, and impressive. I wanna see the same thing for Raths.

The problem I find with Raths isn't that they're hard, or even annoying, to fight; it's just that their movements and animations are still so archaic. Where's the fluidity? Where are the combos? They're just so boring.
