I guess it's nice that you can transfer low IV stuff without plugging it in to a spreadsheet or website, convenient enough when you're out and about but if you care enough about IV to even use the feature you're going to find search for exact values later anyway. It gets no STAB for Dazzling Gleam.
Even against Dragons, it does less damage with it to a Dragon type than it would with a Psychic or Hyper Beam attack.

It's an easy way to get stupid high CP mon. My highest currently is 1500 at level 23, because I've had shit luck at finding good, high CP mons. By evolving a 147 CP karp, I could get as high as 2200 CP mon. That'd be quite the leap for me, no matter how he compares with other 2200 CP mons.
