Trying to use ExtractData to retrieve sprites from a VN.

I used Kikiriki to retrieve the tlg files. Then I'm trying to use ExtractData to convert the tlgs, but it doesn't fucking work. I try to open the file with ExtractData and literally nothing happens

I also tried to use ExtractData on the xp3 file. This time it opens up fine but when I try to extract a tlg file (while using conversion) it crashes. If I don't use conversion it extracts fine.

Every year, Visual Novel fans wonder why Japanese VNs aren't being taken more seriously by critics. I get it; just look at the blend of history and tradition in Clannad, Katawa Shoujo, or Lucid 9 to glimpse the versatility and sophistication Visual Novels have to offer. Why then are Visual Novels not taken seriously?

And then the otaku shrug their shoulders and go back to conversations about who the best girl is, whose waifu is trash, and how irrational anyone must be to playing a VN as soon as female characters show some T&A.

Here’s a thought: maybe critics would be more enthusiastic if the face of Visual Novels weren’t pro-Gamergate, anti-Ghostbusters trolls. I wonder how many people who were once neutral towards Visual Novels have developed an instinctive aversion to it, associating Visual Novel girls with anonymous entitlement?

Here’s another thought: maybe that’s not unfair. Maybe becoming the visual of choice for misogynistic harassers is the unsurprising result of a fandom that has spent years normalizing the objectification of women.

I think a lot of companies handle this sort of thing incorrectly. If they are going to provide alternative, more "safe" and accessible versions; that's fine. But whatever the case, the original version should ALWAYS be an option.

In the case of Dies irae, it has been argued that there are objectively changes for the worse, including some bad script changes. It isn't just H-scenes. Sure, it has additional content, but why about the things that were done incorrectly? What about the people who want to stick to the original?

Kind of reminds me of the whole George Lucas attitude towards new/'remastered' content in which the original is discounted. It's a shitty attitude for companies to have.

I personally won't be supporting the Kickstarter primarily because it's going to be a cropped upscale """HD""" release.
