>The fuck kind of shitbloat are you shoving in it?
Magic mods are limited to AbyssalCraft, Roots and Reliquary. Admittedly there are a lot of client mods in it but I don't think there's anything I'd miss atm.

Except OpenBlocks elevators.
>>
>>152608496
Understandable. I seriously cherrypicked the 1.10 mods quite hard and will probably not break 50 until Draconic Evolution actually provides some interesting content, or a good replacement for LogiPipes pops up.

I would say that RF Generation might be an issue, but with Mekanism in the pack I doubt that might be too much of an issue. :^)
>>
>>152608761

Forestry, TechReborn, EnderIO, Advanced Generators, Actually Additions - plenty of power options
>>
Why does 1.10 with half the mods run at half the framerate of 1.7.10?
>>
>>152608957
I've got both Advanced Generators and EnderIO, along with RFTools (Endergenic). Though I'm concerned with the fact that there's no Buildcraft, so no Oil/Fuel to use for combustion generation.

>>152609187
I actually get almost double in 1.10 compared to a built-up base in 1.7.10. I honestly don't know.

is there any way to get a more in depth look at all the items I've scanned in thaumcraft? going to the primal aspects page and hovering over the aspect I want is just a bit too fiddly. plus it'd be nice to see that not only does a dispenser have 5 terra, but it also has an arbor and machina and whatnot

You don't really need any of those when mek's fusion reactor can be made in a couple of autism fueled days
>>
>>152610128
I don't think I could autism that hard, especially with TAIGA in the pack as well.

Keep in mind that I'm the kind of person that would rather have Logistics Pipes instead of AE2, merely because of how Gregtech'd AE2 has become.
>>
>>152610449
Eh, going at a reasonable pace a week is probably about right. Midgame power production may be a problem though.
>>
>>152610551
I usually float around midgame power for a while. Over on Hoboserb I had a full 16x16x7 reactor that was off 99% of the time because "What the fuck am I going to do with goddamn 24k rf/t?" Especially with a battery that held somewhere in the realm of 5.6 Billion RF.
>>
>>152610838

Why would you need a lot of power anyway? Esp. in 1.10 it only becomes a problem once you start making RFTools dimensions
>>
>>152610838
I had a fusion reactor in two days, which is the only reason why I know it can be done :^) at the expense of mostly everything else though

Judging by Direwolf's videos, nearly every multiblock structure changed, you need more steps to make wires, you need relays to connect those power things instead of wiring everything to the same point and probably more things as well.
>>
>>152615268
But does Direwolf play vanilla IE or does he use some shitty modpack version?

IE is a major iron and copper sink, but it's not really grindy unless you're dumb enough to not automate your steel production early on.

Yup. Forge creates a unique folder hierarchy so, regardless of what launcher you use for it, it still looks the exact same and runs exactly the same. It's just a matter of finding where curse saved your instance then copy and pasting the correct folders and files to your new instance provided by another launcher. I recommend using the Multimc launcher since it holds your hand better for creating and handling instances.

Hey modder nerds, are there any guides or documentation for updating mods for 1.9 or 1.10? I'm having trouble finding anything. Like there's been plenty that document other version changes like 1.6 to 1.7 etc but these last few version have nothing. Of course just cross comparing versions and manually figuring out what needs to change to what works but that's just a pain in the ass. Even vague footnotes or outlines help expedite the process a lot.
>>
>>152633373
Oh. I thought it was something like I blacklisted blocks from this mod because blah blah reasons.

There's a situation like that, isn't there?
>>
>>152633451
A lot more block methods have IBlockState as a variable, and anything that has to do with item or block right-click functionality has a few more variables for things like EnumHand. That's all I can think of, off the top of my head.
>>152633481
Doesn't look that way, seems limited to vanilla blocks.

I need some wisdom, /mcg/. Let's say I want to play with a new group of people and don't want them knowing my regular Minecraft name, just in case they turn out to be assholes. Do I have to use a cracked client or something? If so, I heard that screws me out of using Forge mods - is that true?

>>152640610
Ooh, the latter, definitely.

What edition are you playing on?

There's a pretty lick island map I've been running if you'd like a seed for your Island Survival map.
>>
>>152641919
1.7.10

Whats the seed and what mods do I need?
>>
>>152642259
I have no idea what mods you'd want, all I know is that this seed works from 1.7.10 up, and its still the same even if you have Thaumcraft on, but not with Biomes o Plenty.

The seed is -503127840466840210
World gen should be set to Large Biomes

You'll have a medium sized island with a forest biome at its center, and a shaft/ravine going straight down a good ways towards the north-east of spawn (you spawn facing south)

I'll upload a picture of it in a few minutes

Speaking of seeds, anyone know a good Twilight Forest seed? Seems like I can never find a glacier or enchanted forest.
>>
>>152643483
Its honestly a wonderful little island; enough to where you're not going to struggle just to get the basics, but not enough to just camp there forever.

As for mods I'd recommend;
Archimede's ships (You can make airships and waterships with this mod that are multi-block, but be warned that the second you choose to play with friends it becomes so laggy as to not be playable.)
Journeymap
Twilight Forest
Veinminer

And that's all I can say for basic mods; these all add in fun things without leaning too far towards either magic or technology, but are somewhat a mix of both. I would suggest you at least look at a few of the various mods around just to see what you like, but those mods will get you started.

On that note; does anyone know if Twilight Forest is being redone for more recent versions?
>>

>does anyone know if Twilight Forest is being redone for more recent versions?
Very limited activity on the mod authors github last time I checked. He's not even finishing the last dungeon in the mod, let alone porting everything to 1.9 or 1.10.
>>
>>152643778
>>152644021
1.8 obliterated the majority of modders' motivation to continue their mods. Even the ones who ported don't seem to have any passion left.

I truly think that we're witnessing the death of modded Minecraft. Enjoy it while it lasts, boys.

EIO conduits are cheap, configurable, and their version of the facade blocks flawlessly hide with the 'real' blocks, including connected textures.

These are making me wet. Why haven't I used them before?
>>

IIRC the facades from Thermal Dynamics also correctly interact with connected textures, and they don't require clay to make so I prefer using them sometimes.

Calclavia's version is dead in the water, but DefenseTech by the same author for Mekanism is alive and kicking. Only problem is you need at least the base Mekanism mod plus FMP for it to work.

How is it that microsoft manages to fuck it up completely with their DLC Bullshit, and STILL manage to make a better version than mojang?

Most of the modders who left during 1.7.10 left for reasons other than 1.8 - I did the research once. There are a few who did (the most notable one being immibis), and a few who are not interested in moving to 1.8 (mostly Reika) but most just took a longer break and slowly came back to it.

No, that's incorrect. Tekkit uses Bukkit because Minecraft 1.2.5 had even less admin commands than we have now.

There is literally no mod which only had a Bukkit server version (except MorePlayerModels, I think?), because all of them were made by porting the vanilla server version using a remapping tool and manually adding in Bukkit hooks as necessary.

...That's incredibly weird, unless Mojang did some retroactive bullshit. I remember that we had to shut down our Monster server because of this, and migrate an entire server over to DW20 1.7, which didn't fly too well.

I know that if you disable the authentication requirement you can do it, since that bypasses needing the auth token, but opens up the server to cracked/pirated clients.

>>
>>152688989
No, you're wrong. Bukkit *is* the vanilla server, with a lot of patches. What MCPC did is integrate Forge patches under Bukkit mappings into Bukkit.

You're thinking of Bukkit /plugins/. Plugins and mods are fundamentally different in both structure (plugins use a dedicated API, mods hook into Minecraft directly) and functionality (plugins are usually server-side-only).

if you look at the old bukkit sources you'll see that the bukkit server was an old server that they updated over time to work like the vanilla server. it wasn't a direct decompile of the latest versions.

ZSS or Dartcraft?
I like both
>>
>>152689363
That is incorrect. Bukkit's code was always based on the Minecraft sources of the version it was targetting, with a few exceptions around 1.7 and 1.8 when the small amount of changes made it possible to release patches to the previous version's server first in order to let servers function while Bukkit updated in peace.

In fact, CraftBukkit was always a diff of this repo: https://github.com/Bukkit/mc-dev

Case in point: https://gitlab.prok.pw/Mirrors/CraftBukkit/blob/08e2923bd4282579ca0cf7af0e6207cba0591e5c/pom.xml depends on "org.bukkit.minecraft-server:1.2.5", which is applying files from https://gitlab.prok.pw/Mirrors/CraftBukkit/tree/08e2923bd4282579ca0cf7af0e6207cba0591e5c/src/main/java/net/minecraft/server to the mc-dev repo mentioned above. Updates were done by finding changed classes and copying and pasting the "//CraftBukkit"-marked portions to the newer version, perhaps with some automated tools to help.

Can I find an insect queen, stick auto milkers on her and turn her into my insect honey smoothie ticket? Or line up all the children she births into a conveyor that feeds into my smoothie grinder? Which is also hooked up to a remote tesseract system that feeds the smoothies directly from my helmet into my mouth as I fly around slaughtering and enslaving other insect kingdoms clad in carcasses of past insect king's carapaces. I never really played Erebus but that sounds really fun right now.

In some subjective order:

Redpower 2 for 1.2.5 - it was cool as fuck doing huge towers of lava using pumps, no wire mess because electric blocks shared energy, world-eating machines were hard but cool to design, or even the mossy cobble generators. It was simply nice, you know? I still use Thermal Expansion + Immibis' + Remain in Motion as the poor man's RP2.

Thaumcraft 4 - it extends vanilla gameplay with a magic feel, but it's still an industrial mod at its core. I've spent long hours with it, from the research system (not that great, I admit) to other stuff.

Better than Wolves - yes, post-"hardcore". It's hard, sometimes frustrating, and if you play it dumb you're gonna grind like there is no tomorrow. But if you use all opportunities given to automatize stuff and try to progress at a slow but steady pace, the game's tech tree opens up a thousand possibilities. And everything feels so "simple" yet so "right".

Terrafirmacraft - I like the world revamp aspect, and the mod manages to immerse you as no other mod can do. It gets repetitive over time, but the first time you play it...

I wish we lived in a world where modders tried to balance around the Coal Standard, but we don't. You shouldn't expect 2 mods to balance with each other right out of the box.

Immersive Engineering doesn't try to circumvent Modtweaker. That should be enough. The player is responsible for either using the mod in a way that's balanced with their other mods or taking the time to code in the changes they want.

One coal in vanilla furnace allows for 8 smelting actions, so this is how much power it should produce, 8 processing actions worth per one coal.
And now you realise geothermal generators would be the most broken shit ever more than they ever were, with 100 actions per bucket.

"The coal standard" would actually work; as it would any other shit. Really, we just need some vanilla base to do it.

Note there is already an informal standard around Fortune 3, the reason we get ore doubling.

However, the coal standards should be used only as, well, a standard. It's fine to break from it if there are reasons.
>>
c-can't you just edit configs and enforce it? most mods have adjustable RF rates for their machines. of course that goes out the window with shit like solar power.
>>
>>152712195
>c-can't you just edit configs and enforce it? most mods have adjustable RF rates for their machines.
He can. But it would solve balance only for mods that allow such configs.

>of course that goes out the window with shit like solar power.
Actually you can make an equivalency based on area vs. wood production. I can explain the math if you want.
>>
>>152712195
>>152712487
A tree takes something like 3 days to grow and it's something like 6 wood logs tall. So constant tree farming will output roughly 0.5 coal per day per square.

If the solar panel produces the same amount of energy as half block of coal per day, it'll break even.

Of course. Modders might want to raise the value to make it more attractive... or reduce it to cope with the lack of maintenance needed.
>>
>>152705406
Ie machines are magical blocks too. just bigger ones.

"multiblocks" are a fucking shitty meme if they just act like a more space consumptive furnace. The only good multiblocks are ones where every individual block of the machine performs it's own function, and they combine together for a fully customized, non-cookie cutter machine.

>>
>>152708569
The only thing that breaks the coal standard is lava, really, so something could be done in regards to it given how modded MC has so many ways to carry lava around or get it in first place, unlike vanilla which is the basis for it.
>>152713223
Funnily enough, the Japanese Multi-Block Mod is something like that despite having that name
http://forum.minecraftuser.jp/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=31081
It's kinda complicated, but it lets you choose individual pieces that can do quite a few things to form a bigger multi-block structure.
>>
>>152714335
That's closer to the right tracks. I'd say by /mcg/ standards, it's good use of "magical blocks" to make a good system.

redpower's frame system was a good example. combining frames, motors, block breaksters, and various transport systems to make a quarry that isn't the buildcraft sort.

Maybe a less good example of a multiblock that isn't literally a blueprinted machine is tcon's smeltery. it still serves a straight forward, mostly singular purpose, but you can scale it from a 1x1x1 interior to a 7x7xworldheight monstrousity, and can chose where to put your inputs and outputs.

Going to go out on a limb and risk getting memed on for unpopular opinions, but many systems in botania are part-by-part if you get into more than "drop coal on endo flame for all your mana needs". the corporea system hooked into autocrafting especially.
>>
>>152708569
>getting upset over namecalling
Cry more.

The argument for the Coal Standard makes itself. The only "argument" (read as:shitposting) against it is that it's not perfect already. No shert, Shitlock. That's why it needs to be developed.

I'm advocating for the concept of a coal-based power standard. I do so because it's the absolute most basic power in the vanilla game. Of course it will never really happen, but it's good to dream, isn't it?
>>
>>152715089
>Going to go out on a limb and risk getting memed on for unpopular opinions, but many systems in botania are part-by-part if you get into more than "drop coal on endo flame for all your mana needs". the corporea system hooked into autocrafting especially.

WAAAAAAAAHHHH HOW DARE YOU TO SAY SOMETHING NICE ABOUT A MOD I HATE? FUCK OFF! FUCK OFF! MIGHT AS WELL PLAY CREATIVE! KILL YOURSELF!
[/average /mcg/er]

I agree with you, there are plenty interesting systems, mechanics and features in certain mods hated by plenty people on /mcg/. I don't mess with Botania, but from what I've seen, this is unrelated to the criticisms people often make.

Also people here don't set "this mod isn't made for my playstyle" and "this mod is bad" apart. This applies specially to BTW, the mod is actually good if you're in a certain player niche.

so a standard just makes itself and becomes acceptable because it says 'Standard'?

what about when charcoal only smelted 7? what if I want a charcoal standard, and it should exist because its an easily renewed resource that makes itself
does that mean I have an argument for a standard?

what about a redstone standard? Power can only be transmitted 15 blocks before requiring a repeater, therefore mods should adopt a system based on '15 and repeat' for all power transmission. it argues itself because it exists in vanilla that way!

the 'coal standard' is a neat idea, but claiming it argues itself and mods should base from that is narrow-minded and pretty arrogant. like, people want to do more stuff with what's there. coal is also the ONLY power in vanilla.
redstone controls analog/digital calculations which is sort of power. but you can't cook with redstone, therefore redstone is not power.

Not him (also, he's being a jerk and a faggot), but.

The convenience of the coal standard would be having something in vanilla for all mods to refer to - the power of coal. RF isn't reliable for that purpose, since each mod uses different rates for production and consumption.

It doesn't really matter which vanilla item you use as standard, as long as there is one.

The question is, "what are you trying to achieve with this?". There's a good reason behind a coal standard - solve energy consumption/production irregularity between mods - but what would a redstone standard solve?

I never said Lex isn't terrible. I only said that he does have technical achievements and that you can't just make a modding API by whining about things being horrible, as well as that you can't just fix a community by purging the people it currently depends on.

>>152717071
It won't. We only really had balance when there were few mods and most of the authors knew each other.

>>152747601
Because someone implied I'm only not disappointed in Curse because I'm being paid by them and, as such, "shilling" for them is in my best interest, which is incorrect - I get no money from CurseForge or Curse.

Sorry, but if the community wants things like a central hub of hosting mods which pays out multiple times more than adf.ly with less intrusive ads, they also have to take the raw end of the deal. Or you can just not use Curse.

Isn't the Xaero world map for 1.8.9+ only? I recall reading something about how he was only going to release it for 1.7.10 after testing something.
>>152758134
Isabella II will make your entire world depressed and suck all color out of it, that includes making grass less vibrant. It's comfy as fuck and supports pretty much every single mod out there, although it makes things a bit way too uniform so you might have trouble differentiating TE machines from EIO ones for example.

I was messing around its textures and there are some stuff regarding a manual in there, there's even a craftable guidebook (4 bottles of enchanting + 1 enchanted book) as well but it doesn't do anything.
At least the mod is playable, and you have http://imgur.com/a/aj8hJ to understand the new modifiers.

>>
>>152785649
I don't even know what the fuck you mean here.
Not to mention you've been repeatedly destroyed every time.
I, as an individual, am not part of whether or not they are shit coders.
My apparent entitlement, or hypocrisy, does not matter.
Whether or not I have a job, which I do, IT work is easy as hell, and the certification was cheap, is also irrelevent.
They are stupid.
They are replacable.
They are not talented.
And if I, who am entirely irrelevent to this, want to call them cancerous, over entitled cunts, I can.
My hypocrisy does nit change thier behavior - arguably because I fall into similar habits, I am better at pointing them out.
>>
>>152785748
that's not the way it works. if someone has the ability to make a new big mod, they would do it regardless of another mod already existing. they might not be the most popular, but they would exist. they don't anymore.
>>
>>152786087
>he thinks IT work is easy because he has a cheap certificate

lol Best Buy Geek Squad employee of the month here, mates.

It's sad how hard you're trying to discredit modders, but the reality is that you do nothing, and will never amount to anything, which is why you're so hugely butthurt and jealous when other people succeed at Minecraft modding.
>>
>>152786175
actually, there are plenty of people who have complained about not know what to do as a mod, because another more monolithic mod did it.
Those mods did not start monolithic, but rather small.
>>
>>152786290
No, I want cunts like you to leave.
I want a comfy small community where money isn't involved and the only motivation is passion.
Factorio is a wonderful example of this.

Unfortunately mojang and curse have already set thier eyes on it.
If they do, I will not hesitate to send them qu'rans, jehovah's witnesses and more.
Because I don't care about thier livelihoods, I care about whether or not I can have fun.
And that's all I care about.
>>
>>152786393
1.8 was every newbie modder's dream to get in on the action. you jump into the scene when it's going to take the old dogs time to catch up.

nobody did it.

1.8, 1.8.9, 1.9, 1.9.4, 1.10, 1.10.2... where's the new mods? There's no CoFH anymore, the opportunity is huge. Nobody's taking up the mantle.

Modding is a skill that takes time and intelligence to learn how to do effectively. It's not only coding for a shitty API on a shitty game platform, but it's ideas and artwork. Fuck anyone who gets bent out of shape because they make a bit of money from it through legitimate routes.
>>
>>152786612

Optifine + Fastcraft are great, just remember to set chunk loading to default and disable the fast render option if you don't want anything to break. All those horror stories of how Optifine is incompatible with mods are nothing but bullshit.
>>
>>152801364
It is not new, but it got a lot of new features on 1.8+. Same with Random Things.

They aren't "bullshit" - by disabling Fast Render and setting chunkloading to default you are effectively voiding most of OptiFine's *optimizations*.

Given how my FPS is vastly better with Optifine even with those options turned off, I'd say that, at the very least, they aren't the only optimizations.
And in fact, setting fast render to on shouldn't be much of a problem either, if you don't mind some bizarre z-fighting every so often. Although I recall having the game freeze upon loading a world a few times when I had that option turned on, and disabling it made that problem go away. Better test a bit more.

Actually... That's not entirely true.

* Rendering still uses integer ID maps. Probably for performance.
* You can. If you replace it early enough in the process (on Forge, use Forge's getSubstitutionAlias, which was added in 1.8+ but might still have problems - report to cpw), it will also replace the Blocks.class reference (which is grabbed from the registry), and as such - every single usage of it in the entire game. CoFHCore also has their own implementation of this in 1.7.10.

>blaming Mojang for things which are Forge's responsibility

>>152794219
Look for a mod with 'dev' or 'deobf' in the name.

You've got the wrong version of that mod - the 'dev'/'deobf' version is only for developers to use when, well, running Minecraft from source code. Which is when 'World' is actually named 'World' and not 'bjf' or whatever.
>>
>>152837423
If you're not digging around in a high elevation biome, you'll only find a fraction of the copper veins that can spawn. Chalcopyrite spawns at 10-30 or so, but Tetrahedrite is at 40-120, which means that just above sea level, 2/3 of the Tetrahedrite veins will appear to have never spawned because the terrain is too low.

If you're desperate, dig out a Limonite vein for the uncommon Malachite ores.

There really isn't a huge amount of aesthetic verity in Better Than Wolves. There are a couple of trouble spots where I feel it got to noisy that I have to fix, like on stairs. It also doesn't help that I'm restricted to using stone-like blocks, due to the large amount of fire present in all of my buildings.

Yeah, that would make sense. They also have different recipes though, with the droppers being simpler and cheaper to make are an economic option to a lot of redstone contraptions. Variety and options can always be a good thing too. Another thing too though, is that if you've played with mods and mod machines for example that require you toggle its functions, it gets really tedious to setup up multiple machines or in this case multiple dispensers, even though it doesn't seem like much, opening say a gui and hitting a button or going through other motions of setting it up, adds up to a lot of overhead, time eating and frustration, with double checking settings. When you could instead have a second block and cut out all the extra thinking involved there.

Minecraft's development cycle is just one huge fucking joke.

I can't wait for win10 version to take over and cause the java version to stop getting updated. Maybe we will have another long age of plentiful modding then.
>>

the c version of minecraft will not have modding capability anything close to the hackjob that is java?
There is no profit in it.
Therefore it will not happen.
>>
>>152904660
I might have failed to get my point across: I'm anticipating mods not happening for win10 (at least in the same capacity)

I mean another plentiful modding age on the then depreciated java version. Since modding on win10 is probably never going to happen, hopefully people would stick to modding the no-longer-updating java version.

Kind of like how people still mod morrowind and shit even though it's ancient. I am sure some people would mod the final version of moddable mc.

Even ic2 did the thing where everything became lava first, but then it exploded. Explosions are the universal "you fucked up" of minecraft.

Also
>want danger of meltdowns

>I'm going to assume you aren't retarded, therefore there'd be no danger to you

FTB doesn't actually make modpacks. They bring literal kids on board (Gideon Seymour was like 16) to do all the work and don't pay them anything. Every time something serious goes wrong they blame the modpack maker.

FTB took the fame they got from child labor modpacks to convince modders to join Curse after they literally sold out to them. Now Curse rules the Minecraft community.

All Technic ever did was make good modpacks, but they lack the celebrity status to take that anywhere.

Increase your RAM. Some mods load a lot of models into RAM without any kind of lazy-loading (Chisel is probably the worst offender, with 20k models). It's not that it's impossible to add lazy-loading, it's just that many mods don't - Charset has a small library for lazy-loaded models built in, used for its pipes, wires and gates.

>7 variables when 1 could've sufficed

What's even more fucking amazing about that is how the fuck you get them to work together. Half are ints half are longs so if someone McFucks up and typecasts long into int it'll overflow and either crash or just truncate everything past MAX_INT.

Or, y'know, when displaying these needlessly complicated variables with fucking WAILA for instance. WAILA's already a piece of shit with just getting it to consistently display RF. with SEVEN places to fuck up you'll have machines displaying in petatesla where it only goes up to kilo. or freaking out and breaking WAILA constantly.

oh and even fucking better. how do you save that to an entity or write it to NBT? do you write the value in tesla? megatesla? both? say you have 1,326,777,600 Tesla, would that be stored as-is with just Tesla? or is it going to be reduced to '1 mega, 326,777 kilo, 600 regular'?
why the fuck would anyone ever design something like that? a single long would've worked fine.

Don't worry. BC 8.0 MJs are even more brilliantly designed - the unit is micro-MJs while 1 MJ is still loosely defined as "one furnace tick".
>>
>>152953531
I'd find it kinda funny if people were to go back to MJs as the main non-IC2 power unit.
>>
>>152953658
They probably won't. BuildCraft 8.0 is effectively vaporware, developed as a full rewrite but it might take so long that it may not even see a 1.10 release. I heard AlexIIL wants to ditch some of the rewrite plans in order to get a release out ASAP, though.

The main reason MJ is having microMJs as the unit is that the main thing devs miss from MJ are fractional units. Let's say you want to make a mod which adds lamps which use a tiny amount of power - for balancing reasons. Obviously, 1 RF/tick is ridiculous for a lamp. You could technically eat 1 RF per, say, 100 ticks, but then you lose easy control - if you remove power, it will take up to 100 ticks (5 seconds!) for the lamp to turn off. You could also add a redstone control, but now you have two wires per lamp - and unless you're using Ender IO, that's a major pain to maintain.

I guess you could use doubles like old BC did, but that has its own issues if you want to allow lossless power as part of the design.
>>
>>152953531
>micro-MJs

What was wrong with milli-MJs?
>>
>>152953980
There were never milli-MJs, except for a brief period of time when Alex was deciding the unit for BC8 MJ. MJs were a floating point value.

Do you mean the thing that melts shit down, or the thing that crafts shit?

For the first one you need a ton of essentia buffers with the pipes set to one-way, and labeled tubes to sort the essentia into jars.

For the second one you need a kind of "essentia return tube" to pull the essentia that's left in the tubes back into the system after the thaumatorium switches colors.

Actually, it's only partially the horrible state of the codebase (it really is horrible - I spent 1.5 years maintaining it before giving up, and after the 1.8 port it feels almost unworkable due to the duct-tapey nature of it all). The other problem is the licensing of previous BuildCraft code - we couldn't get Sengir to agree to any relicense and he's the only one holding rights to a majority of the BC code, and with the current license there's a major flaw I'd rather not speak about further.
