I'm proud to announce that I finished pre-building a motherfucking Jojo case!

The premise:

''Marine biologist Jotaro Kujo is put on trial under the charges of having killed young priest Enrico Pucci with his stand, [Star Platinum]. The setting? A small place in Japan called Morioh Town. And the motive? Well it seems both men were after the parts of a legendary Holy Corpse…
But what’s really puzzling is that the victim was found with an arrow stuck in his chest, why is it there?
And what’s the real meaning of this mysterious Holy Corpse?
We are in for a crazy noisy bizarre trial!''

As the premise hints, this Jojo case is not part specific, it takes from many parts. What this means is that you can be any character from any part! Hell you can even be a non-Jojo character if you wish (like Phoenix in the Gurren Lagan case)!
Basically, this is a true All-Star Battle (though I admit I'd prefer if the lead def was Jotaro defending himself...) and shit is gonna get crazy

Now as I said the case is fully pre-built. The premise, the evidence and even the (QUALITY) map are all there... all that is left is players to sign up for this case!

I plan to do this (and post the doc) on Wednesday at 1PM EST/6PM GMT in Area 1, you guys alright with that?

We already have strict rules for music (I've rejected a few tracks that got over 60% in the past so I don't know what else could be done about voting

What can be done is remove unused tracks, but that still won't bring the download to below 1GB, the AA OST does that by itself, non-AA has negligible influence on the download size

When it comes to download size nothing can be done other than offer a base download, the good news is that the new client will have support to streaming, meaning downloading music or even characters will be optional (don't quote me on the characters part though)

That glaring issue aside, the idea of Stands being used in a fair trial is an oxymoron. It'd be like giving everyone access to a Mood Matrix/Perceive/Magatama.

This posts oozes with "I want this to end like The Turnabout/TTGL. You're setting up for some kind of dramatic battle/caps lock war that takes away from a (mostly) logic based game. The Turnabout worked because of the evidence that allowed for the crazy ending to happen (the sword of Satan, the satanic overtones) could have easily have been put in a regular case.. People often forget that it was originally called "Turnabout Just a Prank Bro", and that the anon playing Butz/God was half tempted to brush away everything that happened by saying it was all a prank. That would have been a mistake because of how far it had escalated at that point, but the point is that the case was at one point based in reality and not at the already insane heights of Jojo lore.

I don't have a problem with pre-made cases. I've even made several of my own. But pre-made cases have a higher chance of failure because of the nature of improvisation. The person who writes the evidence could mean to imply the crime happened one way, but with the liberty a witness has (plus the liberty Stands give them) creates a huge margin for failure.

TL;DR
A Jojo case is a recipe for disaster. You're better off doing a case with Jojo themes/minor influence, and give the case the liberty to get absolutely CRAZY or stay grounded in reality.If you're set on doing this case, I recommend playing detective/judge to establish ground rules so the case isn't a mess.

There's nothing wrong with having fun case, and
I'll admit, I had to make a lot of assumptions, but it's like you said: only because I haven't any information. I'm just trying to draw conclusions from what you've proposed and past experiences. Can you really blame me for assuming the case would move in that direction when there's already a precedent for it?
For the last point, it's not so much that I have an issue with evidence that sets up logical conclusions, but I have a problem with evidence that doesn't have any end-game in mind. Again, I have to make assumptions because I don't know what the evidence is, and I'm not making this assumption because of the theme of your case. There just been so many cases that dared to be less dramatic than yours that were written to be too open to interpretation, had a detective that didn't present the crime as the prosecution viewed it leading to misunderstandings, or a combination of the two.
Which is why at the end I suggested playing detective/judge, because when you're the one who best understands the evidence you can point the participants to a conclusion that makes sense and isn't just asspull city.

I agree, but not every case needs to step outside of the formula to work, and the ones that do and succeed are better for it.
It would be fantastic if every case had witnesses that brought something new to the table, but they don't.
You mentioned that witnesses aren't at fault for the formula, but they're the driving force of any case. If they try something new and it falls flat, it's their fault, and if somebody quits because a witness is trying something new, it's their fault.
It's never always a certain party's fault, but any party can be liable to the failure of a case.

Hello, I came up with an idea after watching our small bonds of friendship with /drg/ and I'd like to know your opinions

Here is the proposal

An area for custom characters would be created. That is an area where all sorts of non-official characters can be used, characters not in the update. This includes all the DanganRonpa characters that /drg/ would want, but also really any kind of character, with the only exception of ponies since they harm rule 7

It goes without saying that usage of said custom characters would be prohibited on other areas, it'd be limited to the custom character area exclusively

I came up with this rule so /drg/ would have a more comfortable time here however I think that idea might end up being useful for all of us in many other ways

Note this is just a rough drawing of it, we might need more rules around this and I am willing to hear them

Alright, so with this custom area.
How would it be used?
For casing?
If so the idea of an anything goes area might not work for RP purposes if somebody is using low quality content and you remove it because it bothers you.
You still need to know how people around you are emoting to be able to tell the situation well.
Second problem I can think of is that since this is going to be an area mostly for newfriends from /drg/ we might get an influx of missingnos whenever they go somewhere else.
They'll get the hang of it all eventually, I guess.
Third thing is that you would constantly have to be downloading new content and fixes for your folders if you were to use the custom area.
This might lead to people fucking up their folders and even more content bloat than we already deal with.
I can think of other issues too, but I'm not really able to put them to words right now.

We are slightly more smarter than the average normie, here is what I suggest: You know the area in the case documents where people put their name on the roles? Have people hyperlink the download to their characters on their names so it is easy to gather what you need, that'd be an elegant solution

As for content bloat I am confident it'll be a non-issue on the official side since only content that passes poll will become official

Some positive food of thought for the newfriends wanting to defend. Defense is not a easy role but if you ever want to I'll give you some protips:

When on the Detective testimony, be ready to ask any questions you may have about pieces of evidence. Asking them about something that's not explained in the Court Records is a good starting point.

On witness testimonies, either use notepad (copy down notes) or tabs (one tab for the testimony, the other for evidence) to your advantage

Don't get all shaky when the witnesses add something new to the case, in fact you could use this to your advantage to continue the trial

Never doubt yourself. Always try to find a new perspective to the case. It's like Godot said, "A lawyer never cries until it's all over."
