The inherent problem with Hearthstone is that tech cards are all but useless even in a tournament setting. The "tech" card commonly used is Flare and that was basically just a cantrip for Hunters.

They need to implement a sideboard rule

I haven't had any bullshit Barnes yet so I can't judge for it. I've had boom bots double trade and hit my Ancient of War for 4 to kill it before, Ragnaros miss 5 minions on board and lethal me in the face but I believe Yogg is the worst of all.

You can't really slam the other cards and hope to win the game if you're already losing with the exception of Ragnaros but that requires a specific condition. Yogg basically throws the rest of the game out the window and can turn a 100% loss into a win.

Packs, you have to practice arena a lot before you are able to profit.

What I would recommend is switching regions on the Battle.net client and practice arena without wasting the gold in your main region.

Because in Tempostone: Heroes of Tempocraft, cards are only worth playing if they provide immediate value. You can only get immediate inspire value if you have two extra mana to hero power after you play the inspire minion, which basically means all inspire minions have +2 mana cost if you want to get full value out of them.

Today I got to legend for the first time with aggro rogue. Very grateful to hunter, giants warrior, and other such FOTM decks for giving me the free stars and ego boosts needed to finally comprehend the matchup against shamans / real warrior decks.

what the fuck do I do now, though? I'm not exactly chomping at the bit to grind out legend rank, and I'm not in love with this deck to see it as anything more than a matchup spread. My friends are on shit like resurrect priest and reno mage, but I'm (currently) F2P so I don't want to drop dust on a deck like that without a second opinion

It's a cool mechanic but is ultimately a win-more mechanic. That and the fact that Blizzard saw that Joust was an absolute failure so they scrapped that along with Inspire, even though Inspire is OK.

Because Blizz was afraid to make fully statted minions with additional value. A lot of them were undertuned to compensate when the Inspire mechanic already made the minions slower than they should've been.
Most well tuned decks (Midrange and Aggro especially) are designed to fill out their Mana-curve by playing cards and only Hero Powering as a last resort. Inspire encouraged the opposite, and thus it really only made an impact in Arena where players' decks aren't as mana efficient so it made their Hero Powers stronger.

It was a poor attempt to recreate the Tapping mechanic from MtG that didn't translate very well.

That's always been a problem with Hearthstone.

If you're looking for advice, C'thun decks are fairly cheap and can be surprisingly effective, honestly. Since you get C'thun for free the only new legendary you NEED for them is Twin Emperor Vek'lor. Most of the good C'thun cards themselves are common or rare, so it's very easy to build a deck.

The Yeti stats + any card text already makes the card insane, but the fact that it turns into a 10-card Twilight Drake with a 10 attack C'Thun just puts it out of control.

That thing only has -1 attack than Ancient of War for -3 mana and you can even hide it behind a Taunt to make the trades you want with it. The only way you have any hope of getting rid of it is with hard removal.

Not really. Metagame trends are cyclical. What may have been the best deck this week may not be the best deck next week. A deck which has fallen off the radar and nobody prepars for may be the best deck to win a tournament.

Allowing sideboards would also eliminate the need to bring 4 decks, and play best of 5 when you can just play best of 3.

Exactly. With a sideboard though they can prepare for anything, so decks end up being a lot less well rounded or specialized because they can be changed to completely different playstyles with less than 3 different cards.
That also has to do with some decks being 90% the same, but that's more of an issue with card powerlevels
Running a deck that relies on Secrets? Your opponent can tech in Eater/Kezan on the fly.
Using a weapon class? Be prepared to get Oozed sometime in the game.
Playing Aggro? Get ready to see more Healing and board clears than usual.
Playing Control? Brace yourself for the greediest decks in the world.

That's pretty much what I'm running in Wild.

Nothing but cards that steal and help against Aggro. The anti-aggro cards help me reach into late-game where I just out-value the fuck out of him with my own removal, using his own removal, stealing his minions and playing his own minions.

Rank 7 so far.

I also want to mention that Shadow Madness is a very good sleeper card in Wild (And probably in Standard). Everyone is running low attack Deathrattle shit while dumping multipe minions, often enabling me to steal their Deathrattles or other card effects. It's also nice since everyone and their mother is playing Barnes so you can steal their Tirion/Sylvanas/etc and just resurrect those for 2 or 5 mana.

There is no way you can possibly prepare for everything with limited sideboard slots. So, it's better to dedicate slots for match ups that you expect to face. Why even put in Eater of Secrets or Flare when they are a couple of the least played decks when you can put in board wipe spells for aggro shaman and token druid? Besides, preboard unfavored matchups can still be unfavored post board. The metagame is diverse enough where having 8 sideboard slots wouldn't be enough to prepare yourself for every tiered deck you find on tempo storm.

How about a cap on max armor, say 30 so warriors don't cry too much, a change to Shield Slam so it spends as much armor as the hit points of the minion you use it on, and maybe a couple more cards to spend armor so playing warrior is about managing your total armor instead of effectively gaining obscene amounts of life ?
It wouldn't kill warrior decks as they are and could even open up ore possibilities for the class. I know it will never happen, but still, you can just win games by putting everything on your defense as it is, and it's not just against aggro.

The deck is strong against Secret Paladin, Unstable Ghoul just ruins their day.
Worst matchup is of course Control Warrior. Anything N'Zoth that actually gets to play the big guy kills you too obviously, but you can smorc em down before that pretty reliably.

You'd think it'd be like Arcane Intellect but with free cards but it clogs up your hand and you have twice the chances of getting a useless card as you do with Swashburglar, and Swashburglar is better for the later game too because he only costs one mana so if you get a big card off him you can use it straight away.
