I don't know about the base gun, but you can get two legendary versions of it with an effect that was previously only found on fist weapons, Furious.

When used with a full auto receiver it basically turns absolutely anything into swiss cheese.

Easily the best two guns in the game.

Al has been playing the same character with the same followers for so long that you have to give him credit for trying to spice it up. You would go crazy too if you're job was to play the same video game every week with certain events always happening.

Brodual is bigger on skyrim, but the just do videos on one mod where they explain all the features in a slow casual voice and showcase what it does, without the big "weekly showcase" aspect. It's relaxed and less every new mod that's popular, more general mods that show promise or are very well made.

This quest mod is dog shit, but he never blamed the mod maker, I wouldn't be able to even start playing this mod, but that is also because unlike him I don't have a super computer that is able to run all of the 100 of mods he has on his PC.

Alright, so we've been talking and Maxwell's World is gonna have two versions. There's the standard version, but then also a GOTY edition. This one will require Nuka World and Far Harbor, and come with a few miscellaneous enhancements, mostly visual (little bit more creature variety, proper look for the vault coaster, etc).

Has anyone stumbled upon the Sprinter legendary effect for 10% speed increase, but on torso pieces and arm pieces??
Ive found two legwear pieces with the effect. I have The Captains hat, Recon marine right arm, Which together gives me 40% speed increase. I want to find full sprinters gear

because of the way settlements calculate attack probability, scavenging is capped at like 100 or so junk items total, once the settlement has that number of junk items stored, nothing more will be scavenged, because if there were no cap the settlements would end up with shit like 100% daily chance of being attacked

Is it one of the generic melee weapons that do bleed damage?

Maybe the radiation damage super sledge or radium rifle? That radiation damage will work real swell against anything that isn't immune or resistant to radiation damage. You know, like over half the enemies in the game.

Maybe the harpoon gun that does slightly less damage than the gauss rifle, and has a reload time that makes me want to kill myself.

Is anyone else bothered by the fact that the overboss's base is ontop of what is -- essentially - - a rival gang's hive? the disciples are the absolute least trustworthy of the gangs in nuka world.

Some people don't have all the DLC, I usually have a set time limit before I start putting out mods that require all the DLC anyway. I went into MW with the mindset that it wouldn't use any of the DLCs for the initial version, and that's what will happen. I'm just also going to have a version for the people with DLC.

Personally I like the difficulty of Survival but I hate having to not fast travel. But I just downloaded a mod that allows you to travel ONLY to your settlements, and I downloaded a mod that enables the console, but I only use it for screenshots. It works well for me. This week, I started a new run. 10 Strength, 10 Endurance, 4 Luck + 1 from SPECIAL book for EXP boost. Been trying to stay melee-only, and have found some pretty great options. Having fun. However, I'm just about to hit 30, and although I've been packing on resistances like crazy, even with Rooted and pretty great armor, enemies' damage seems to be scaling way out of hand. Am I just fucked for wanting to go pure melee, or does it all balance out in later levels?

Also, should I get around to Far Harbor sooner rather than later, or is level of entry really not important?

Eh, the side quests are oh-kay, but not great. Far Harbor, IMHO, is an actual Fallout game, in the same way that Point Lookout was.

If somebody plays on very hard and feels like they do too little damage they can either pick perks that do that (and also pick perks that increase your resistance to dmg) or lower the difficulty which just makes everything a zero sum game.

I can't stress enough how badly bethesda fucked themselves with the difficulty slider and how half the perks literally do nothing to enhance the gameplay. Sure you can argue that in RPG sense you are progressing as a character but when it's just a numbers game instead of gaining new abilities and gaining access to new areas, it's pointless.

Jim is suddenly regretting coming into this satellite relay to settle down for the night. He nearly got his legs blown off by several explosive traps just trying to get inside. And..that monkey. That creepy fucking monkey.

He set up inside a small security post with a PC still working inside of it. And quite frankly, he regrets having read the contents of that terminal. Jim finally worked up the courage to head deeper inside and immediately regretted his decision. After disarming more traps (thank god he had read that old field manual about spotting and disarming IEDs) and nearly being lethally irradiated, he came across a tall, cavernous room at the lowest level of the facility.

What followed next were the most harrowing moments of young Jim's life. As if malfunctioning robots firing heated railspike death at him and the real threat of falling into fiery pit of death below (seriously, what? That shit isn't OSHA compliant) weren't enough, he also had to dodge actual friggin laser beams fired from the completely insane engine of death and suffering that took up the center of the cavern. Being out of shape this took considerably more effort than normal.

But, he persevered and shut the damned thing down.

To be fair you haven't really said anything that wasn't just memeworthy up to this point. Your whole argument seems to hinge on "I like this weapon and the way it functions more than this other type of weapon". The whole argument about "basing a playstyle around a single weapon" stopped working the moment people posted multiple examples of other weapons that make amazing use of that perk tree. Not all are even of the same type. High ROF makes all the difference with certain weapon types, and legendary affixes shouldn't be ignored, especially when guns like the Kiloton rifle, Splattercannon, plasma flamer, etc. can all be easily obtained.

Suggesting Commando is a "meme" when it's a perfectly viable alternate form of play is a heavily biased statement to make. So I was thinking, what if someone, or Bethesda made a mod/DLC where as the sole survivor after beating the game for the institute, or by doing some type of quest like helping some random group of people travel on boat, and you have to sleep this would simply be a plot device to start the mod/dlc.

So once the content starts you find yourself as a new character a few years after the events of fallout 4, walking on the road north of the robotics disposal grounds, not far east from vault 111 where all those snow covered mountains are, and as usual you are equiped with low tier gear, a 9mm pistol and a kitchen knife, wearing a merc grunt outfit (A tan t-shirt with a leather pocketed bandolier, a belt with a pistol holster and ammo bag/first aid bag on the belt)

Anyways exploring the world you will realize that the weather is more volatile, being a mix of heat waves, radiation storms and heavy radioactive rain, and sand storms.
Most of the foliage is dead do to the continuously growing lack of clean water, so most of the ground is either gravel, dried up cracked dirt, or sand.
The Lakes and rivers other then the large one connected to the ocean are dried up, but even then (if it's possible) the sea level has been decreased and Charles River (main river on the map) has been lowered to only being knee high at most.
All of this has happened due to a drought along with the glowing sea's radiation finally spreading outward allowing it to dissipate, but unfortunately growing stronger outside of the immediate danger zone.
So essentially most farmers and settlers either fell to becoming raiders, or left allowing wasteland creatures to move in and populate more.

To add more to this misery a mysterious diseases carried by mole rats that turns anyone strong enough to survive the infection into rabid violent lunatics with fleeting lifespans, and while the brotherhood & minutemen originally tried to coupe with this disease by giving out a cure made by some female doctor, and their own medical team, both of these factions could not coupe with the plague. The brotherhood decided to pack up and leave, and the minutemen fell apart and were forced to joined the gunners to become a militaristic xenophobs who raided anywhere to horde all of the food, aid, weapons, and power armor they could find. held up in a few military bases, Fort Independence, and a giant self-made spectacle island fort base.

Diamond city ironically became a feral ghoul breeding ground due to a group of super mutant suiciders rushing into the walls with a dirty bomb made purely of mini nukes and a large container of nuclear waste. While good neighbor was crushed and it's inhabitants forced into the metros by a group of colapsing sky scrappers triggered by some old boat on rockets crashing into them.

Also included in this new hell hole is a second horde of even worse super mutants, and synths all because of a rebellion inside institute by the synthetic slaves and a group of "extremist" scientists that wanted to free all synths. (That shoddycast video mentioned before being my main inspiration) The rebellion being sparked by The Sole Survivor taking command of the Institute and trying to actually help the people of the wasteland and stop the production of synthetic slaves, this unfortunately did nott sit well with the head scientist council, and was denied by majority vote. The Survivor then secretly teleported with a small group of gen 2 synths to the Corvega factory and built a wasteland proof highwayman using the factory and institute resources, and drove west out of the wasteland beyond the institute's range.

now while the sole survivor fled west in search of a group told of by the brotherhood of steel called the followers of the apocalypses, the newly headless institute fell into riots and fights between the humanitarians and the more stiff elitists who wished to wait for the topside to die out rather then spare the time in helping those filthy impure wastelanders, the elites even went as far as forcing the drought and mole rat disease's spread.
These fights were silenced by a group of synths killing some of the scientists, in which most of the scientists were killed off or enslaved, the synthetic rulers then began pushing the production of both gen 2 synths, gen 3 synths, power armor, and even a super mutant army under the rule of a leader gen 3 synth full of cybernetic enhancements, unfortunate for the synth rebellion their teleportation machine no longer worked as it once did, being unable to return to the institute, so they had to build massive tunnels and a elevator leading up the original CIT ruins.

The player's goal is to survive till they are able to take on the new institute, and destroy them, then escape the commonwealth.

Walk the tracks and keep looking down/back, there's a small platform hidden with a dead scientist dude and a star core.. Hard to explain but as you walk along the tracks you enter a new atrium through a small gap in the wall and it's below and to your left, I believe their may be a small door and ramp leading to it. Either that or watch out for the bunker with a dead trader in it - Again it's hidden on one of these little track sections (Not in the mars colony thing).

I used tcl to just zip around the area and search for it after getting too buttmad, and skipped the last ones outside of nuka world entirely. 2 fuckin lazy for that.

The problem with Dogmeat (and his related perk in Charisma) is that he's a remnant of the old system they had in the alpha where you took along a companion AND Dogmeat.

Basically radiation damage is the an additional type of damage, enemies with complete immunity to area radiation which affects the max hp actually have 0 radiation resistance, because they're supposedly immune. The end result is the gamma gun's type of rad damage does nothing to creatures and mutants, the radium rifles type annihilates them. The Kiloton radium rifle does ballistic, radiation, and explosive damage. It gets a damage bonus from the relevant perk for semi or fully automatic, a bonus from the explosives perk and then a massive bonus from the nuclear physicist perk.

Damage perks encourage the bloating of enemy HP as you level up, and said bloating enemy HP encourages taking damage perks. It's a design loop that only encourages its own existence when you cater elements around it.

Worse than that. Ghouls or at least some of them actually HEAL from radiation damage instead of taking damage. I watched a 10 minute fight between my settlers at the drive in theater and a 10 pack of ghouls that was not going to fucking end because my settlers had picked up gamma guns from a previous followers of Atom attack and were healing the fucking ghouls, and the glowing ones kept rezzing the ones who did get killed. After 10 minutes of me watching from the top of the screen and sipping my coffee I killed off the ghouls myself and confiscated everybodys radiation based weapons.
On that day was implemented Nuke Orgasmo's official declaration of NO FUCKING GAMMA GUNS ALLOWED at the settlements decree. Written in glowing blood. It was pretty fucking funny to watch tho.

The biggest problem I saw people say with skyrim was that the perks were JUST +damage, not that it had +daamge perks at all.

And in Fallout 4 they made those perks do other things on top of +damage, and most of the complaints went away.

After about an hour into the game you've seen most of the enemies you'll fight, the only real differences are in the prefixes/suffixes of the enemies, and even then it usually boils down to each one is just a different level bracket, and legendary just means more stats and a legendary drop - with the exception of the suicide bomber enemies.

You can keep gear mods, but just add more unique base gear for them to modify. Even still, the modification system missed the mark because a lot of the modifications just boil down to more of a stat on the gear and there's a lot of overlap between mods where the differences are just stat increases.

It kind of feels like they looked at Diablo and said "we need more of that in our game".

It's not progression, it's a self-forcing mechanic. You don't take damage perks to feel more powerful, you take these damage perks because you'll be left behind and the game becomes exponentially harder as a result. You have no choice BUT to take them.

Why do you need weapon damage buffs to feel a sense of progression? They should have focused more on keeping your aim steady, faster reload speeds etc. Yes those are included alongside the damage perks, but they're still not the reason you take the perks.

One of the single biggest complaints I saw about NV's perk system across multiple forums was that so many of the perks so such useless gimmicks that many people actually wanted some way to skip the level up screen, because they honestly didn't like any of the perks available, since they had gotten all the ones that actually made your character better.

I've played a lot of ttrpgs and wargames. Real time combat is more visceral, less of an intellectual exercise. I enjoy both, but not in the same way. Different strokes and all that.

I still enjoy turn based games, but outside of a few 4x grand strategy games, I really only enjoy them when playing with a group, or multiplayer. I have come to prefer real time combat for single player crpgs.

Why not have it so that you have perk ranks or skill points. On low there is extreme gun sway and messing up reloading. As you improve it gets better and at 100/maxperk you have god aim PC perfect shooting skills. Make it so that if you want good gunplay you just max it out. Having said that, i only paid 20 bucks for the season pass so i view the workshop DLC as free and the other DLCs, as a whole, worth the money. Once you open that area the tunnel to it is also buildable in but they're kinda narrow so it's hard to get anything in there. Personally I made a tight alley way out of the concrete set and conveyer belts in both directions.

Although arguably the walls/doors are fairly simple structures, some basic engineering skill might be enough to not fuck it up, but I would not want to stand anywhere near a nuclear generator these "skilled" individuals assemble when it's turned on.

Sure, but they're so inflexible that it's hardly even worth bothering with them as a modder. Just look at the Manufacturing Extended mod - that author had to make an entirely new ammo plant just to process what was added in FH.

It's not our fault that Bethesda gave us absolute rubbish for building stations. Not only is the closest vanilla thing to the Fo3/FNV workbench a _chem lab_, but we can't even choose the quantity to manufacture, or even name recipes, anymore.

I've mostly just resorted to using scripts + message boxes to do custom recipes now. You can get a little more sophisticated with configurable production runs, but it's going to be limited at least by not giving users any EXP.

That being said if they happened to use bumper swords and sniper rifles along with naturally procured bows & arrows, brahmin and deer skin armor with wolf coyote or even wild dog fur for warmth then that would be perfect.

It happens regardless of whether I skip the intro or not.

Dialogue is not really properly timed with the characters' mouth movements, and sometimes their new lines overlap the previous ones. I don't know if that's normal for Fallout 4 or not, Skyrim had a lot of it, even in the intro sequence.

Do you use a computer monitor or a TV? I use a 4k TV/monitor combo and have had it auto select a ridiculous aspect ratio, causing the audio to fall out of sync. Fiddle with the resolution and see if that will fix it.

Any idea why some areas are taking really fucking long to load? It's faster to quick save and then quick load, forcing the game to load the area than it is to actually wait for it.

The way creation works is that framerate is tied to game speed in order to make sure scripts fire off properly.

the higher you go, the faster the game plays, quite literally, if you reach like 200+ FPS, things like bottles will literally drop 3 times faster then at 60 FPS

So this shit is basically completely broken.

Completely controllable recoil even without mods for it. It's so smooth I'm using iron sights just for fun and style.

I could put a silencer on it for cheeki breeki, but the gun just doesn't fucking need stealth crits.

I could put a 75 round drum mag on it, but it looks dumb, and enemies don't survive 30 rounds.

You can full auto a mirelurk's shell, and after enough shots it's like you're landing all of your shots in its head. I don't even have bloody mess or lone wanderer on and it just shreds.

On a side note, there needs to be a mod that replaces nuka world radio with stalker bandit radio.

Yes, absolutely. One mod allows you to place every object in any place, disabling the "red" placement marker.
The other one works in conjunction with AutoHotkey, a free software. Once you click an object via console, you can make little adjustments with your NumPad.


On I side note, I never realized this place even existed.

Is there a way to get around having to build a raider signal flag?

Game still won't let me no matter what I do. I tried taking a settlement by talking to the settlers, and it went fine, raiders showed up and started wandering around, sending caps back to Nuka World, but I couldn't plant a flag and thus move on to the next bit of the quest.

I loaded to a previous save and instead chose to wipe them out with a different gang. Same deal. Can't plant fucking flag.

After the first incident I tried just going back to Nuka World WITHOUT planting the flag but Shank won't even engage me in conversation, just says some lines about me getting rid of those settlers.

This is especially annoying because I'm playing on survival and had to do this on foot both ways.

Please help.

First time it was with Operators, second time with Disciples.

This game is really unstable with mods for me. Certain mods cause me to reach an area, and the buildings don't load until after 7 seconds, or the enemies don't load in/spawn in till after 5 to 8 seconds.

Or if I have a mod that adds guns to the leveled lists the game stutters for a second as if its trying to decide what each particular enemy will have in their inventory.
