Make sure to bargain for compensation as Niantic has done such things in the past. In a way, it's bigger since there are more people talking about it now because of social media. You also have 20/30 year olds who are playing because they played Red/Blue/Yellow 20 years ago. You also have people who know nothing about Pokemon playing it too because it's so popular and easy to pick up. It's not seen as a "kid's thing" like it was in the 90s.

PG is also smaller in a way since it's mostly just limited to social media. It's not as 'in your face' like Pokemon in the 90s. There's no explosion of merchandise and advertising tie-ins. Pokemon stuff was everywhere in the 90s. You couldn't escape it. Think of all of the Minions crap you've seen everywhere for the past two years, double the amount, and then add in all of the Angry Birds stuff you saw a few years ago. I have more than one charizard because they're everywhere in California. For Vensasaur I had to go to a park(Heritage Park, Irvine) that was a Bulbasaur nest and farmed a good 3-4 hours for him and other grass/bug types I needed. I got Squirtles by the beach of Carlsbad Village and Oceanside pier as well as a lot of Magikarps. I farmed more Magikarps and the last Dratinis I needed for my first Dragonite an entire week until last night and now I have 4 Gyarados.

You basically need to travel 10 minutes to an hour if you want to complete the Pokedex fast or just farm really slowly and getting lucky with eggs. There's no better way than to farm nests and habitats in big cities.

The entirety of my town is always taken over my mysticucks at night who flood the city with lvl 8-10 gyms and they can take me up to an hour and a half to completely get rid of. Gyms have level based on Prestige. It's the 2000/4000 thing you see on the left side.

In order to put a Pokemon in, you need space in the gym. There are N slots available in a level N gym. If there is no room, then you make some by raising the prestige to the next cutoff.

You raise prestige in an allied gym two ways:
1) Put in a Pokemon and get +2000 Prestige. This means putting in Pokemon into a lv 0 or lv 1 gym automatically levels it up because levels are at 2000 and 4000 prestige. Lv 3 is 8000 Prestige so you need to start working for that after three Pokemon.
2) Beat up your teammates' Pokemon in a 1v1.

Training is like a normal gym fight except
(a) You only get to bring one Pokemon
(b) Your Pokemon can't faint, it only sits at 1 HP when you lose.

If your Pokemon is lower CP than the gym Pokemon it beat, then the gym gets +500 Prestige per Pokemon.
If your Pokemon is higher CP than the gym Pokemon it beat, then the gym only gets +100 CP Prestige per Pokemon.

If you're thinking "Well this is retarded, since defeating an enemy Pokemon is a guaranteed -500 Prestige per Pokemon and the enemy gets to use 6 Pokemon, it's going to be impossible to hold a gym for any amount of time." then you are absolutely correct. It is a retarded system where the odds and mechanics are stacked against you.

This also means that when your teammate puts in a 900 CP Clefable and none of your 895 CP Pokemon can't tank a dodged Moonblast, it will be much easier to just ditch the gym and wait for somebody to take it and then take it back. Even if you can beat up the Clefable with a higher CP Pokemon, because it's designed as a time-waster you just spent 2+ minutes to boost the gym by +100 Prestige which is wholly not worth the time because your half-HP dude isn't going to be able to win the second fight against the higher CP defender.

If they weren't the only free source of coins in the game, basically everyone would've ditched gyms at launch.

Egg tracking system seems to work better, I still can't talk about rare mons spawning more often.

So hey /pgg/, I got two questions. Forgive me if either of them are well-known are n00b questions.

1)Is there anything that'll contribute to possibility of a Pokemon getting a decent moveset? Or is it pure, stupid luck what moveset you get?

2)The last three Eevee's I've evolved have turned into Flareons dspite the naming trick. I've already got a bitchin' Vaporean and now I've my damn pick of the litter with fucking four Flareons now.... I've got a Jolteon but its shit and I want a better one. the only stats from the real games that seem to matter in this one are Attack, Defense, and HP. Knowing this, what Pokemon do you expect to be top tier when Gen II is brought in?

Tyranitar is an obvious one - 134 attack, 110 defense, 100 HP. Basically a slightly better Dragonite with a different typing.

Feraligatr - High attack and defense, decent HP, great Water typing with access to Water Gun.

Steelix - massive defense, decent HP and attack, good typing

Scizor - massive attack, great defense, average HP

Heracross - massive attack, average defense and HP

Are pokestops getting removed in the game for being to close? a few weeks when I went to the park there were five pokestops rather close to each other, with a lot of people rotating between them.(school kids on bikes, a mom with a tired kid on the back, an old guy with a wheelchair (they mount their phones), ...). The week after it was only four and not as many people anymore. The middle one was gone, while it's still there in Ingress. And there would be no reason for someone to get it removed as it was in the park.

I have a 1280CP Gyarados with bite/dragon pulse. I also have 394 karp candy and a 146 Magikarp ready to evolve.

To be honest, the grind is the only thing keeping me going.
