It all starts with dirty Italians. These dirty Italians have a incredible private mod. I thought I could get on their fourm and get the mod because all you needed was 30 posts in order to unlock their VIP section.

However it seems about a year ago they changed that policy because people were sharing their mod so they got butt frustrated, banned english being spoken on their forum and made it so only 'trusted' people in their community could have the mod. So basically unless someone can find an old build for us to work with we're fucked.

How hard can it be to make the FC3 stuff semi clickable? Not full fidelity but when someone presses the right switch it activates the keybind and moves the animated switch. It doesn't seem like it would be stupidly hard to develop. Ex you click the down flaps button in the flanker, clicking in that area toggles the keyboard pressing F and since it's like F is being pressed the animated button will go down anyway.

Hey I'm trying to set up BMS for the first time

how do you unbind a joystick key or is there a do-nothing command I can bind them to

I'm trying to set my pinky switch in the joystick software as a shift switch to double my buttons so I have enough to map everything but even if I have a macro set in the joystick software BMS still recognizes the joystick button being pressed and it seems like there's no way to unbind the joystick buttons fuck this is a pain in the ass

Might be a daft question, haven't played Falcon BMS 4.33 at all, played a little bit of 4.32. Cleaning up my system, is there a way to uninstall Falcon 4.0 while still leaving BMS playable? Otherwise they'll both have to go (can always download later).

A general rule I've assumed for recognition is "if it looks like a 109 but its off somehow, its a soviet plane"
For recognition between yaks and 109s it depends on the model. Early 109 series had the wingtip cut, F series and onwards had it rounded, making it a bit harder to recognize. Yaks have a thicker tail, engine section and larger wings.
Laggs kinda look like the yaks, Lalas have a 190-tier nose. Be particulary wary of the La-5 since it can turn the tables quite fast at low alt if you waste your energy.
Play many quick missions to get used to aircraft recognition.

Jesus Christ ED please make ground modules and give us a DCS-fidelity M4 Sherman- preferably, one of the hull-types that saw service with both the 75 and 76 mil guns (with the purchase coming with both versions a-la Polychop's gazelle).

There's so much cool shit on this tank- engine management would be hella cool, learning the gearbox and how to employ the tank on difficult terrain as the driver. The gunner has a fucking gun stabilizer to play with on every non-105mm version of the sherman. The commander even has his own independent periscope he can use to lay the gun onto a target for the gunner similar to how modern MBTs do it.

Steel Beasts doesn't hit the mark. No vehicle I've played in Steel Beasts has a fully-modeled startup sequence, none of them have any of their real-world quirks implemented (so far as I can tell; for example, I've tried intentionally to burn out the laser on the T-72 given that it's only supposed to be safe to fire it once or twice every minute, but I've never had a non-combat-related systems failure aside from the Bradley's TOW launcher being damaged by fast movement).

I just want a game where I can pay $60, jump into a fully-modeled Sherman interior, start the engine up as the driver before swapping over to the gunner to start warming up the turret electrics and setting up the gun stab, hopping to the commander's position to set up my radios, giving the order for everyone to load their MGs while I scan around me as the other tanks of my group marshall, then heading off into indian territory

Hell, if DCS does it, I don't even care if they keep the same kinda lame HP-based damage system they have for AI ground units, as long as they give me a DCS-level tank with actual armor mechanics for player vehicles.

I've had mine for quite a while now without issue, not sure I could go back to a floppy stick. Strongly dislike the throttle, feels cheap. The slider is easily the best thing about it, if it broke I'd get a CH throttle but I'd try to fix or replace the stick.

well I'm not overly serious about flight sims, so I tend to switch between games a lot and having the warthog would be fine in DCS and stuff but if I hopped on ED for an hour with an A-10 replica I figured it wouldn't be too great.

I just wanted something that didn't feel flimsy like the logitech 3D, so far the x52 feels fine but we'll see.

desu the warthog for me was pretty worth (probably because I got it in the best sale ever for $250) the stick is actually pretty nice, you can bitch about the gimbal but if you regrease it and get a dust cover for the bottom (dude was selling then on leddit of make your own) so shit doesn't get in it it's smooth af. Defo not for pussies that can't handle a stiff stick though and it would probably pretty shit for space 'sims' since it's so stiff. However the stick is solid and I've had no issues

The throttle on the other hand does in fact feel kinda cheap in some areas. The slew ministick is pretty awful although you do get used to it after awhile, it's still the biggest flaw in my opinion though, if they just would have used a game controller like stick like the CH throttle it would be fantastic.

The lack of other axis besides the slider is pretty ass too, but can't complain too much as there would be no other ways to make more since it's a replica.

The toggle switches on the base are also really fantastic and satisfying but you don't use them a shit ton and they are only 1 way by default. The toggle switch on the left of the throttle is shit though. The buttons and switches on the right and the hats are okay.

The throttle could be more solid for the price but I think the stick is great and solid. If you have gimbal issues just regrease and you're golden.
