It's highly unlikely that a game comes with FanTranslation.ABC, but if it comes with JPSCRIPT.ABC and you know ABC format well enough to create an ABC of your own, you can pack the translation into your JPSCRIPT.ABC container, and the game will load it instead of the original one if you place it into the patch directory.

Thats because USB is comparatively fast. If you slap everything in an archive and move it that way it's a lot faster, of course you then need to account for time to compress and decompress unless its a game iso or something and doesn't need it done before use.
Back on the xbox this was torture to endure for games like KotOR which had ~1000 tiny sound files bloating the transfer time to around a few hours for a ~4GB game. If it were an iso you're looking at half that easy.
