So yeah, through a bunch of trial and error I found a way to undub EOU with hex editing and the extraction tool alone, no need for a repacker.
The bad news, my connection speed sucks so don't expect me to upload the whole game. I'll try to upload NTR plugins for the US and EU version by tomorrow.
(NTR is superior anyway since it works on cartridges as well and you can decide if you want to play dubbed or not by simply not running it.)

If it's anything like EOU2, they keep the portrait and specs of their prior class. Except this time, stat mods are based on races and second names(which get picked again AFTER relassing), so you're really mix/matching races with classes.

So same stats as 5 levels ago, minus any from second names, which you pick and get adjusted for afterwards.

Also, if it's like EOU2's reclassing, you can do it as early as level 1, though it won't mean much aside from changed portraits until the race restrictions are removed(i.e. A Warlock reclassed into a Necromancer will have the exact same stats before equipment).

As of now, there's very little motive to give that treatment to EO4. Current games still use the same engine (and models), most of the major QoL improvements were already there, the story is expansive enough as you pointed out and its availiability isn't compromised thanks to being on the eShop.
It could use the speed and ailment chart QoL improvements as well as an Expert mode which EO5 also desperately needs but I don't think that's enough to warrant a remake.

So, I don't know how to fix the missing audio files. But I do think that I know the cause of it.
The general idea behind the undub was to trick the game into thinking it has to locate the voice files outside the custom game archive, which actually worked just fine, but simply not for all files.
That's because the .HPI file contains offset and size information of all files. If I could locate this and delete it, it would probably work completely. (Mentioned in the guide.)

A tip that should work.
Kibagami (and anything Bushi) usually works

>Heavy attack
In Kibagami's case, use Ice Slash, and make sure that your Landshark is with Vanguard active to get more mileage.
If you buffed Kibagami with other means, be it a Dancer, Bravant or what not, the Ice Slash easily hits by the thousands.

Just make sure to use Kibagami as a single unit and try to not give him duties from your other members.

Bunkers are basically the only reason I can do a solo Dragoon run without wiping to the first encounter over and over. In fact one point in bunker makes the game go from dying in one turn the instant a battle happens to being able to explore entire floors at a time.
I wouldn't use them in a full party though since I'd use a Necromancer and I'd need all three summon slots for her.

I'm glad subclassing was ditched for a branching specialization system, it's a lot more balanced and stops your party members from filling every niche like they do in EO3 or 4.

Solo hoplite takes a while to get going because early on you're just spamming guard for the flat heal. It's very safe but long. You get to the point where you can solo the first stratum FOEs before you get to the boss.
Once you get subclassing and ninja you can just faceroll the rest of the game with ninja giving you tons of free TP through evasion not to mention the clones. You basically don't use skills until then. You can powerlevel very easily by aggroing all the dragon FOEs in stratum 3 at once and just kill them at your pace since they can't really damage you.
As a bonus because you solo the first boss you always get its conditional drop which sells for mad dosh, a big leg up that normal runs won't really get.

Solo fortress is similar in concept early on where you take hits for TP and then use divine mace to regain all your HP.

I'm not sure how far I can take solo Dragoon though, unlike the other two I don't have infinite HP and TP options so battles of attrition won't work as well. The racial skill sometimes regens 1 TP and helps when you're mostly using 2-3 TP skills but it's still not much.

I might also drop it due to gun mount being bugged. I've already gotten two game overs from it not activating healing guard when it was supposed to and that number is only going to go up. I could stop using gun mount entirely but at that point I'd just rather not play EO5 since I'd want the skill in a normal party too. Or at least wait until another version/patch and hope they fix it.

From memory that doesn't seem to match what happens, early on you get outsped by everything and it still works and later on when you're overleveled you outspeed everything and it still fails.

I'll pay more attention and try to see if I can force a fail with that in mind though.

Just tried it, first random encounter I was in, always went last and gun mount still worked fine, activating the proper guard skill each time. So I don't think it's speed related.

Unless you mean it has a chance to fail when you're not going first but that sounds kind of obtuse. Anyway now I'll be on the lookout for whether or not gun mount can fail when you went first.

Somebody was saying gun mount only fails if the user is in the middle front row, which would be kind of bad considering that's where lone units default to. Basically means I'd have to carry a dead level 1 guy around to force my dragoon to move to top left or top right. Though it certainly explains why I'd keep running into it.
