I still need to play TaiAli myself but I've heard a lot of praise for it so it's a shame to see such an incompetent company get their hands on it.
Aside from that debacle though, I'm pretty pleased with the growth in the western market lately. Now is probably the best time yet to be an EOP and I'm curious to see if more localizers join in. I wouldn't be surprised to see KBO announced next.

Despite being a PSP game people bought Hakuoki enough times for it to be released three times over, Ozmafia got at least as many sales on Steam as the Vita port did in Japan despite being a PC game, and Code:Realize and Norn 9 did well enough for Aksys to give the green light on 4 more Otomate titles.

So yes, despite what you catty women think there are some people out there in the world who are buying these games.

I thought the prose was jarring and bloated at times in a way that ruined the comedic flow of some scenes. Then there wasn't enough narration in places that did need it and too much dialog.
Other than the usual nuances and double meanings that get lost in translation I don't think the style was notable enough to need desperate preservation. With the quality of the promo work we've seen from e2 so far I'm more worried about the plot being preserved.

There was some great dialog though, especially in Kaguya's route.
Kaguya's route was really top tier in general.

Sad. That was awful to learn about. I thought it was going to be a light sweet game. It's too bad the writing seemed to have suffered in the worst way possible.

In a lot of cases they glossed over it by mentioning it on a summary screen. I kid you not, they summarized part of the school festival for one character by writing “and then [after some drama] we walked around the booths holding hands“ before skipping to the next scene.

Enjoyable. Probably not worth the asking price (is any mobile game worth it?), but if you play it free, exploit or no, it's not a bad game.

I've obtained all the endings, except for Jaehee's bad endings. I would have liked her a lot more if they got rid of her 'celebrities shouldn't date' junk. I hate purityfags.

I don't like how they handled the happy endings. None of them are satisfying. You had to read the characters' after stories to get some closure. The problem with the after stories is that they're just visual stories. No choices or interaction. While this isn't necessarily bad for epilogue-type endings, it gets a bit dull when you get to the much longer "secret" after stories. The heroine appears maybe once or twice. There were few, if any, "doki doki" moments.

The highlight of the game is probably the phone calls. They felt very realistic and had a lot of intimate or cute moments (or creepy for a certain character). I wish the game had some kind of in-game time display. When you skip chats or use hourglasses, the game time gets funny and so unlocking new calls is a bit tricky.

I should add that I felt a little disappointed with certain aspects, like the yandere character. There were so many ways they could have taken it. Like having the character calling or text 20 times in a row when you don't respond.

Or having the ability to cheat on a character. You could be on one boy's route with the chats, but have an affair with another boy through calls and text.

Basically, they could have been a lot more creative and done a lot more, but seeing as the game repeatedly got delayed, they obviously run out of time. Maybe they could add content with a patch, but I don't see that happening any time soon.

Ciel Nosurge is a real game with a nice looking model.
I wouldn't mind a genderbent version at all, but that phone game doesn't look even nearly as good.

Just finished Sensei's route in Natsuzora. I was totally moved, man. Inoue's acting was so good, Shou was a qtpie, the end confession was hilarious, and so on. Greatly looking forward to Kagaharu's route.

Played the first game and the first half of the second one.
It's a great series, probably one of my favorites. It has a solid story, nice BGM and the Hana Awase mini game was a lot of fun. Considering its price, I thought it'd be a short shallow game, but I got way more than I paid for.
Mizuchi best boy. Also, the girls are all great (even if one of them is a real bitch in the first game) and it's a pity we'll never get a friendship ending with any of them.
You might want to stay away from it if you're looking for a light fluffy game though. If memory serves right, there is always only one good end per game. (Karakurenai/Utsutsu Hen has probably two since two guys are featured there but I can't guarantee it.)

My misgiving with this is that it sounds familiar right down to the "guy with amnesia stuck in a room" part.

I keep slacking off, but I did finish Tokiharu's route. It was interesting enough, but by the final parts it felt like several steps were missing and some points were brushed away too easily or left forgotten, which made Tokiharu's reasoning for how he is come off as flimsy. The scenes after they became a couple were nice, but I still felt more left behind than anything.

One thing that got me - he only joined the band because he was asked, composes the music just because he can, and really just does what he can for the band not because he feels any attachment or devotion to it, but because it's just there. I kept joking to myself that he lives his life as if he has nothing to live for...and then in the bad ending he kills himself. Welp, didn't actually expect the game to agree with me there

Only one left is Yorito, who despite being the most blatant trashy slut has stolen most of the best scenes in the other routes.

All things considered I don't hate them. They can be cute, even. The first ending I got was the common bad ending where Konoha doesn't think that she can manage such a difficult group and abandons ship and I wasn't even mad, but I would probably feel bad if I got that ending now. They're not out to do harm, they just don't know any better since that is how low their self-worth is, and though they have been together as a band for so long their circumstances had caused them to create individual barriers around each other. Throughout the routes you can tell that they become more grounded and in-sync as a team (but only a little bit since the writing can get rushed and shallow, but oh well).

I fortunately managed to get both: Oodenta with my last ofuda and Sohaya by spamming the same recipe until I got him.
Now I'm totally wasted on resources, so I'll postpone map 7-2 and 7-3 until I'm good. Sadachan and Kikkou will not leave those maps at any given moments.

It's a good read, and I recommend it to people who normally don't care for BL games as well. I recommend having at least basic knowledge of that time period though. I remember someone here back in 2013ish, while ripping on the game despite having not read it, tried to mock it for something in it that actually happened back then irl (I think it was the Co-Prosperity Sphere) and I'm still a little embarrassed for them.

I've only seen spoiler tags used properly for it. If you read something outside of them it probably wasn't particularly spoilery unless I missed something. Also, there's a lot going on, even what's been in the spoiler tags barely touched on it.
