I played the PC version of Ray Gigant. It was ok, I guess. I looked around and supposedly there was a free dlc for the Vita that doesn't seem to be included in the port. There is barely any info on what the dlc actually is around the internet, beyond "adding sequel stories" and "a further evolution for the last boss". Mary Skelter certainly sounds more interesting, but if MeiQ isn't too long then I might just buy it. Anyone's who's played it tell me how long it is. Also tell me how's the performance, e.g. loading times.

I've played the original DS 7th Dragon and enjoyed that one, though the shit quest system and the Haze Shield mini-bosses are so boring that I've stopped for a bit. I also started a bit of 2020 on PPSSPP, and it seems to be quite the improvement from the original entry. The 7th Dragon series is probably the first time since the old Shining days that I've actually thought highly of SEGA RPGs. Definitely now in my top 5 RPG series of all time.

I just picked up God Eater Resurrection and I gotta wonder, when does it get good? I just started fighting those flying assholes in the subway, but everything in the game feels WAY too easy. The bombing part is not that important. The game released right in the middle of the warzone, surrounded by something like 10 other games that released around the same period. A niche genre like that can't really sell too much.

I'd say you should look carefully at the battles and customizations for this one, since that's the good part. The characters and story is okay but not that great in my opinion. Same for dungeons.

MeiQ is not too long if you only intend to do one run (the plat requires 3 or 4). On normal this should be 30 hours or less. Hard mode is quite challenging and will probably take 40 hours or so, since you'll likely need some levels before boss fights.

I thought Mary Skelter, on surface, actually looks very promising. It has character oriented gimmicks and quite a number too. I.e. character skills that interact with dungeons. Probably why it advertises the game as puzzle+drpg. There's also the real time element of nightmares chasing you, on top of class change system like dt2 and a good effort of preparing the back story via the collaboration.

It runs great on Vita. One reviewer noticed some fps drops on larger maps, which is true. Not a big deal for me, but can't say the same for everyone.

The combat always runs well. Load time is fairly fast. Animations are fairly short as well. You can check out the battle videos and they more or less work the same way. Something like 1~3 seconds for a skill.

All in all I think the technical part isn't too much of an issue.

I played it eight hours straight on the first day, three hours on the second and then I just left it because at the fourth chapter I was just incredibly bored by the dungeons.
