The way the booting from sd will work is you run the firmware from a flashcart and then load the rom off of your sd card.
The firmware of the flashcart reads it as a rom and launches it.
Its mostly like an emulator of sort and is more getting the flashcart firmware to run correctly than getting the console itself to read the rom as a game.

3dscontroller is a nice pice of homebrew. Not gonna lie didn't even contemplate the 3ds as a pc controller until I had to. Looking back it's a solid controller in a lot of circumstances, especially if you can use the keyboard and an input device at the same time (Not many games do this)

Worth noting that Plailect is updating the a9lh guide any day now. Will be faster and safer and it looks like we will be able to skip rednand all together meaning much less time spent waiting for backups.

He recommends waiting for its release before starting and that there will be benefits from using the new guide.

OK so I completely installed arm9loaderhax without a hitch. I formatted my SysNAND accidentally with tinyformat.
decrypt9 says my backup is corrupted based on the SHA file. I'm afraid of forcing the restore.

FreeMCBoot is a homebrew launcher. If you stick a memory card with FMCB in your PS2, it will modify the main menu to add some homebrew apps to it. FreeHDBoot does the same but it runs from an internal hard drive instead.
