The "shield" emblems you got for reaching certain status on bungie forums during the halo days. First one, the white one wasn't for the mission, it was for participating in the beta.

The blue one was rewarded for completing the mission but bungie failed to properly reward it to a lot of people that did the mission and since they "Don't replace deleted items" and count their fault as "deleted items" most people didn't get it. There was a typo on their site when they announced the rewards which said the white one was for completing the mission and blue one was for beta and youtubers quickly reported it not noticing the error so it ended up looking like blue one was just a mystery.

Every week they pick at least 3 movies and give the emblem to up to six people per movie. And this was done since launch, as opposed to Y1 Trials which was only a thing for what, six months? Yes it does require PS+, and yes, it is quite good. It's addictive and time consuming but does have a lot of fun moments.

The real fun is the endgame so don't be put off if you find the main missions a bit lackluster.
