The only two people I lost two last night were the guy who won the tournament last time and the guy who won it this time, came in second and first this week. Both of them were super cool and talked to me about the match ups and invited me to come out and run sets with them to improve. Everyone there is just happy to be around fighting games and play and improve

I try to bring some of that here to /fgg/ but people simply don't want that. As often as people get called out for shitposting or sniffing, I get called out for being "obnoxious" and "trying to act like everybody's uncle" lol

fighting game communities are a really awesome thing that most people only get to experience in person at locals, but I feel like with enough people answering questions, offering sets and advice, /fgg/ could be like that too. A lot of new players come here to learn because that's what most people of 4chan to when they discover a new game they're interested in: go to /vg/ and check it out. It sucks that 90% of our threads are a complete mess

play what you want, there's enough players for most games. I guess just consider what you're looking for in a game. I would say SF4 isn't incredibly beginner friendly. The links can be hard and anyone you're going to be playing is going to have OS tech down that you simply won't know how to deal with at first so it'll feel like you're getting stomped a lot. if you want to use cammy divekick properly you need to training mode and learn the distances/strength and try your absolute best to link cr mp, that is a perfect divekick, you can start with linking into cr jab but in order to really master them you need to try the cr mp, in games linking cr mp is kind of tough so I stuck to jabs but if youre seriously bout improving you should be willing to learn this

SF3 was an extreme. I'm not saying ditch the whole cast besides the core three. But really, when you have 33 characters and only what, five of them are new characters, then it's wasted potential. Especially when, unlike SF, gameplay tends to stay more or less the same between iterations.

I'm also saying this because I think the T7 newcomers look great and bring some fresh air to Tekken. That's what a series that's been running for over 20 years need. Some fresh air. People always said they wanted Jun or Kunimitsu but the amount of actual buyers that care about those characters are very small. Probably smaller than the gain you get by including new characters instead. Besides Lei, I hope the rest of the fighters are newcomers.
