To be totally fair, you don't really have to grind at all to finish the DEAC starmap stuff. It's just that you finish that stuff so damn quick and then there's not much else to do besides camp Survival/Extraction missions for absurd periods of time that are only reasonable if you have fully maxed out gear and things like Forma on every slot. I see the relic system as it is now as a step forward. I will never miss doing a 40 minute/wave mission for 9/10 jack shit again. All it did is show how flawed void is to begin with.

In a grindy game like this, the endgame is usually getting the strongest gear and shit (for killing the strongest shit) you can. But DE is so afraid of anything being better than anything else that it ends up dropping players in an infinite loop of monotony.

Going 60+ minutes solo in a T3 survival was fun though. It actually felt like it made dropping 4+ forma in a weapon was worth it. Now, I really can't see the point. Pretty much anything will get you through a fissure mission.

the game has gotten better.

I remember seeing the Dark Sector Trailer, think it was back in 2004, waiting for it to release... then being disappointed by the dramatic setting change.

rediscovering "dark sector" when Warframe popped up on Xbox One before destiny's release. Im a MR22 at this point, but i think the state the game was in back then was significantly more polished than what founders started with. Essentially I didnt see the sausage being made, i dropped in for a complete sandwich. Even back then Warframe was Way better than the "AAA" trash Destiny had to offer.

Since then the game runs a lot better (Nova and Vauban used to Freeze the game up to 1fps), the movement system has improved, there are more warframes, quests explaining the world (second dream gave your warframe a living breath heart), more mission types with varied reasons for doing them (syndicates, fissures, sorties, archwing), they made shotguns good, and melee useable. we even have a fancy trader that sells stuff no one wants because they already bought everything.

after my first few months playing warframe i had to same feeling I got after playing through and doing everything in the Witcher 3. where it felt like I actually built something and was a part of the world.
I can only imagine the game has gotten even better for new players.

I don't know man, DE is all over the place with the game. The element of grinding is what kept me around, there's no particular end goal but I kept playing because I enjoy checking out whatever new frames/weapons they come up with that have cool mechanics (fewer and fewer nowdays).
