Chisato is awful, but in a way I almost prefer it when they do it like her because that way it's actually presented as a problem. The trouble is with a character like Chisato that the writers then go 'But who cares, let's keep them like that anyway' and give them everything they want.

It makes me think of Mia Touma. I might have actually liked her quite a bit if she had actually faced the consequences of her actions or been presented as a villain. Her build up to villainy was actually fairly decent but then it just drags the whole route into garbage town.

When gameplay aspects are concerned, when does a visual novel stop being a visual novel and starts being a video game with visual novel elements? Some would argue that Utawarerumono is a video game and not a vn, but somehow baldr sky never falls into those discussion.

Do you consider Utawarerumono a game with visual novel aspects, or a visual novel with somegame play elements? What about the Baldr games?

If you consider Utawarerumono a visual novel more than a game, what about Luminous Arc Infinity and Summon Night? Both are "games" where you spend more time reading dialoge boxes than playing the game.

I'm not pretending to know the answer and It's not black and white, yes or no, but I would like you hear your opinions.

I would accept Utawarerumono being called either a game or a VN, but Kamidori is definitely a game while Shikkoku no Sharnoth is definitely a VN. It really depends on how important the story is to the entire experience. You can take the game out of SNS and lose nothing while without gameplay in Kamidori the entire thing is pretty shit with a few interesting side characters.
