Most of the shit in PoE happens automatically from procs or are permanently kept on not situational auras.

Nearly everything in PoE is a proc like life tap from dracul's grasp or a permanent aura. In Diablo 2 as hdin I can't run Conc+Vigor+Cleansing+Redemption+Conviction all at once like you do in PoE with auras, heralds or whatever. In d2 you have to use these situationally.

And there's nothing like redemption or telekenesis and curses don't feel as impactful because there's no breakin immunes it's just another dps buff.

Not everyone plays with 2 buttons, and frankly a lot of build could benefit from stuff like decoy totem

Yes you use Hammers primarily to kill shit, with concentration primarily as your aura

HOWEVER

If you're in a group you might run Conviction to help all your Elemental damage dealers out instead of buffing your hammers.

You use other various auras situationally rather than cast and forget. Cleansing gets rid of status ailments, for example. Or in a group you might turn on Vigor in between packs to help non teleporters out.

You also made better use of your weapon switch. Most people use weapon switch in PoE to just level up gems. zzzzzzzz

Having two based movement skills like teleport + vigor/charge is better than anything in PoE.

And you could deal with some bosses like Ubers with Smite which was kinds a big huge part of the game.

PoE is one skill to kill, one skill to move and prebuffs. Nothing else. Diablo 2 had far, far greater skill usage variety everything else is an oversimplification.

This is why an open ended skill tree is retarded. They can'r rigidly define the classes and each classes skills and builds well enough.

The end result is less diversity, more samey builds and no defined classes.

It's better to have several well defined, distinct builds all exquisitly designed with each class having many viable builds than it is to hope the players don't notice the lack of diversity through all the cruft.

This is why Diablo 2 had so much replay value. You had many different builds to work towards that didn't overlap because the bulk of your build came from each classes unique skills. And items were both more interesting, varied and reasonable to obtain.
