I checked out of Bleach at Soul Society, but if Rukia's like Sakura, which I find doubtful, then her charactrer's been changed quite a bit. Rukia's introverted like Hinata, though even that that doesn't really function as an adequate comparison. Pretty no nonsense, on the job, from what I recall, as well, with a very subdued emotional range. Maybe the best character comparisons would actually be Kakashi?

That's what I mean by tunnel vision, not from going too fast but by focusing too hard on one thing. Byakugan and Sharingan both completely bypass it, and Byakugan gives you 359 degree awareness. The lamppost thing is tunnel vision, you focus too hard on one thing and don't see the rest. It's physically impossible for that to happen with Doujutsu.

Getting stuff on a silver platter, even in a lesser and more material form has also been tried for the last few decades in the form of welfare, and all it achieved was a human repetition of the Mouse Utopia experiment.

I recognise that's a social experiment, but its effects down on the individual level could well be even worse.

Plant Matrix creates circumstances where you are happy and not to the exclusion of anyone else. They are personalized happiness bubbles created to feel natural and, as, genjutsu, you won't suddenly realize it's genjutsu.
Illusory worlds are identical to real worlds from inside both, so that isn't an argument. The problem isn't getting things on the silver platter, it's a world where you are, by definition, happy. If you don't want it on a silver platter you won't get it. The world gives you what you want to feel fulfilled, you will achieve your goals and feel it is natural in the process, etc. You become the winner. There is exactly zero chance of feeling hollow or feeling unhappy in an Infinite Tsukuyomi.
