The irony of it all is that he's clearly designed with versatility in mind, what with his Enhancer and Shift Sway mechanics, but since he's mediocre to shit without them, he's basically pigeonholed into using them, limiting his options significantly. Enhancer in particular is especially bad, because it requires lots of micro-dashes so Naoto basically requires more effort to do what most other characters can do as naturally as breathing.

I've no intention of modding them if I can avoid it, as I'm pretty awful at stuff like that and don't want to risk accidentally damaging them, and I've never used a fight stick before.

If you get the venom, only bother if you will be replacing its joystick and buttons with sanwa parts. The Drone has a shitty joystick too and its annoying to mod. The Hori is great though, it uses a Hayabusa lever and Kuro buttons, the latter some dont like but they are by no means bad. The Etokki omni is also an option.

I know that the Drone gives you unnecessary inputs and will break on you easily. Usually these shitty parts will break easily. Using shitty parts will turn you off ever using an arcade stick because they feel like shit. If you don't want to go the stick route you can try a Hori FC4 for a pad, I hear its fantastic.

As far as I know the Venom is very easy to mod in particular and a Sanwa JLF is not expensive, neither are the buttons. If you are in the US the best store for parts is focusattack.com and if you are EU like myself the best is arcadeworlduk. The main difference in Sanwa and Semitsu is that Semitsu sticks are firmer, and Sanwa is more loose (I believe SHMUP players prefer Semitsu). Sanwa parts are pretty much the standard for sticks. Just look up some videos of people replacing joysticks and buttons in arcade sticks and see if thats too much for you,its simple and its not difficult but I can see why it would put someone off. You can also ask the SRK modding forums about anything specific.

Corner BnB's will differ depending on what you start the combo with, an A starter normal will decrease the amount of hitstun they are in and so you will not be able to get as much damage.

For a B starter in the corner I do 5B>5C>236C>2C>slightly delayed 5C>2C (1 hit)>6C>623C>5B>5C>sj>j.BC>jc>j.C>236C>5D
If you have trouble with the 5B>5C after the DP its because you did the DP too late and it does not juggle them high enough for you to recover and for 5B to start up. If you have trouble with this then do 5A>5C after the DP instead. When starting this combo with a j.C its usually better to start with j.C>5B>236C I find.

A more simple version of this is: 5B>5C>236C>6D>2C>5C>j.BC>jc>j.C>j.236C>5D, you can even omit the 2C if you want to keep it even more simple.

Things are different if you use an A starter (including j.AA), you will not be able to do the 2C>5C>2C(1)>6C combo, as they do not remain in hitstun due to A normal proration. You will need to do the second combo.

If there is anything else you need to know then ask, although I'm not an experienced player by any means, I just started BlazBlue and only have around 340 games.
