Giving a fair warning to the hall is no different than saying that you'll cap the monster or bring a specific thing to a hunt.

You can literally say "I'm shit at SnS" and no one will judge. And when you cart, it will make sense.

In fact, if they see you doing stupid shit (i.e bashing constantly with SnS), some may even correct you in the hall. Or make a recommendation on armor. Etc.

Because the tutorials in MH are some of the worst ever seen.
The actual weapon tutorials are shat out and don't even explain anything and everything in the game just says "lol go read it in the billion pages of hunter notes" but then the hunters notes don't actually detail everything.

With all the loading screens monster hunter has they should really put down all these little tidbits as hunter tips that show up while loading instead of the same boring 3 frame animation.

Chip damage was never a thing for me in MH. Maybe it's because I'm a hammer user and always on the move.

I had so many great moments fighting this monster, super man diving over the wrap around attack. Seeing it getting tired and when it lunges itself it flies across the room as opposed to most wyvern's lazy dash and fall.

There's a lot of other things I suppose, but he was cool.

I'm actually really fucking sad at what happened to the CB in Gen. Having so you can only get Red Shield from 5 Phials + turn cancelling Axe Mode AED really ruined the flow of the weapon. Guard Points were utterly neutered unless you use Adept for Adept Guards, and overall damage gutted.

Najarala was a great idea and model wasted on what is very possibly the most poorly-designed monster in the game. Only Garuga and some of the supermassive dragons come close.

If you think about when and how Najarala got introduced it's actually blindingly obvious how it should have been designed.

It's basically a snake, and from head-to-toe its body span is longer than pretty much every enemy but a Lao/Jhen-sized monster. It's also a 4th-generation monster, and 4th gen was where they overhauled player movement to allow quick vaulting over small/medium sized elevation differences, aerial attacks, etc.

You would think that someone at Capcom would put two and two together, and figure out that he should have slithered around the arena freely, instead of spending most of his time in a default coiled stance, and his body should have been usable as a ledge that you could vault onto, run along, and jump off of.

Monsters can flee but once they begin an area transition that cannot be KO'd.

Say for instance Zinogre flees all the way to the next area entrance to make his escape. You can stagger, status, trap, do whatever to him during this point. But if he reaches the entrance of the area and starts running again that's it, nothing will happen to it til he's in the next area. It's worse with flying monsters since you're probably shooting at it the whole time it's flying but nothing is happening.

This applies to all monsters that enter areas, even small ones. In 4U you can kill Kelbi as soon as they appear in the area. Now? They'll tank the damage and drop to one health until they hit a certain distance and then you have to hit them again. If they're poisoned (because you can apply status during the transition and it'll tick the whole time) they will just drop dead.

I have absolutely no idea what the fuck you're on about, but the specificity fascinates me. I've definitely seen funky things happen like this, having a monster that I quickly followed into the next zone burst out of the ground and instantly KO.

Another one that always happens is bursting Glavenus throat, hitting the KO threshold during the stagger, and having him stand all the way the fuck back up just to instantly KO the next frame he gets.

I'm less convinced that it has to do with zoning itself and more like animation priority: and it seems that the behavior to leave a zone has absurdly high priority. The highest is probably to enter rage mode from damage, for example

I find Adept Lance kinda garbage. You can't even mid-combo counter anymore, which seems weird for the Counter-hit style. It would really help for avoiding the third hit on the non-Striker Lance as well.
