Help me out a bit. I'm trying to figure out the lore reasoning behind demon hunters and how old they actually are. I know that Illidan fought in the war of the acients but got imprisoned for TEN THOUSAND YEARS for saving the moonwell and being a key part to the legions downfall by "joining" them and stabbing them in the back, then he got freed to help against the second invasion after humans went full derp with magic, and with the powers of gul'dan turning him into a demon hunter he got banished but then malfurion was like, "i love you bro" after illidan helped save Tyrande from the lich king.

And from what I understand right after that illidan peaced out to outaland to fight demons and ended up grabbing the blood elves that were working under Kael'thas and those blood elves became demon hunters in his army.

But where did the kaldorei come from? Did they follow illidan to outland? I assume some of the kaeldori agreed with illidan that the burning legion needed to be stopped so they followed him through the dark portal.

But why were blood elves in outland? I'm reading the wiki but there's so much information it's hard to take it all in.

So after a bit more reading through the timeline it seems that year 22 was the year that illidan helped stop the second comming of the legion and peace'd to outland. Assuming the unofficial timeline is correct that gives illidan 4 years in outland to amass his army before the armies of Azeroth storm the citadel.

So I guess it makes sense that number of Kaldorei would follow illidan to outland and become demon hunters after their homes were razed by the second invasion.

I'm not sure what to main either way though, and the invasion stuff isn't entertaining enough to seem worth it (when we'll be getting easy 700+ gear from starting quests in Legion). Then again there's a week left to play...

What does /vg/ think of mainworthy classes in Legion? Balance druid seems pretty fun now that they normalized their resource system, and the character always used to be my main, but DH also feels great so far.
I have ALL classes at at least 90+.

Balance will only end up playing better in Legion if you like the playstyle already. Their Artifact ability is less of a "neat cooldown" and more of a straight up addition to the rotation for Astral Power gen.

The mob exp is broken, in that if a max level or anyone else tags it, you get much less exp from it. Almost nothing.
This promotes bitter solo zergy bullshit play, and getting massively disappointed if someone just tries to help, instead of the entire point of the event, which is banding together to fight off the legion

Not getting walked over by the Legion? The Alliance needs the Horde to stop them, and Dalaran is the only staging ground to attack the Broken Isles. If the Kirin Tor said no then the Horde wouldn't be able to effectively strike at the Legion.

Jaina has a point, but the issue is that the threat of the Legion is way too big to allow factional grudges to influence decisions like that. Without the Horde in Dalaran so the Kirin Tor can co-ordinate the offensive with, it would be too hard to fight the Legion.

Keep in mind that a big part of Legions story is that members of both the Horde and Alliance think the factional fighting when the Legion is about to turn the world to ash is retarded, hence why they're all allying with each other based on class in the class halls and working together
