Why is it so much more satisfying to summon a monster with Polymerization than to Overlay or Tune something? I think it's to do with using a Special Card as the catalyst for the summon rather than just tributing the monsters. It just feels cooler.

safe zone dies to mst, guardian dies to castel, popping monsters may be beneficial if the enemy if using removal, so you can pop their monsters.

and popping your own monsters can do silly shit like giving yourself more attacks in battle phase with ultimate gear golem or assault modes, but guardian also protects from your own effects with things like yubel.

neither of those cards is good enough to be meta so petdeck examples is all i have, obviously neither will stop airbus or trish or ignister or kozmojo

returning to hand or top of deck is basically flight and wind, like with spirits, yosenjus, mist valley, compulsory, raiza, phoenix wing. although heavy storms, twisters, typhoons, etc. are also spell/trap destruction

I summon my Agent of Creation Venus, and use its effect to summon 3 Mystical Shine Balls. I then use Hand Destruction, sending my Plaguespreader Zombie and my second Venus to the grave. I place a card back on my deck to summon Plaguespreader and Synchro it and the shine balls into Ameshikou. With 4 fairyies in the grave I can now special summon Archlord Kristya from my hand, sending my grave Venus to my hand. I set one card and end my turn.
