I had no idea they'll break them up, but looking at it now, I'm kind of glad they did. Seducing Triss in TW3 and persuading her their love has a chance was one of my favorite subplots. Seeing Triss leave, only to return at that dock was a very emotional moment. And even during the break up, my Geralt remained faithful to Triss, like he was ever since TW1.

I did back then, but I just double checked. Loaded a save from last summer (patch 1.04) after I'd just gotten to Velen, and the quest still showed up. If your game is properly patched then it should work even with older saves.

No, it felt forced. They probably added it in because there were already references to Yennefer in the DLC (when the shopkeeper asks about Vengerberg and when Geralt mentions Vivienne's color scheme). There's not much to her character and if you don't want to bring up negative things like political scheming or taking advantage of an amnesiac, all you're left with are vague forced statements like that.

Touissaint was mostly written by their new B team before they brought the other guys back over from Cyberpunk. Besides the argument isn't whether they thought it fit. It was whether they were correct or not (they weren't).

I do though. I've talked to a couple of them. A lot of them don't even remember what they worked on. Obsessive fans tend to have more memory of these things than a lot of the developers.

CDPR are just too nice, they gave us two big extensions, a myriad of patchs which significantly improved the game and yet people are disappointed that it's "just" a package with the two extensions.

This is, I think, why they chose the path they did. Say they tried really hard to have a well developed character that is in a romantic relationship with the main character. By necessity this mean said character features heavily in the plot has a fully fleshed out personality, backstory, and goals, and the romance will be slow and involve realistic conflict. Here's what happens:

>People with negative associations from prior games and dudebros that just want their testosterone fueled badass brofest complain that it's unavoidable.
>Waifufags complain that there's only one waifu choice and/or that she's a bitch (since remember, she has her own drives and won't always fellate the PC)
>Self insert fags complain that the spotlight leaves the idealized version of themselves, ruining their power fantasy.

Basically, the options for an Obsidian writer in regards to romance are

The hanging weight of her tail, the growing burden of her breasts, the choking tangle of her new tongue, even all the itches she could not scratch now that her arms had become her forelegs. It was impossible to ignore when there simply was nothing else to feel. Most troubling of all…she had begun to notice an increasing, indescribable…sloth to her thoughts. Even quickened by fear, everything seemed to move just a bit slower than it should, associations and words emerging ever so slightly too late. It was the boredom. The lack of stimuli. Surely.

Horrified, she could do nothing but watch as the man shoved his arm into her anus. Sharp pain. A sensation of something giving way, like silk tearing against the pull of a strong hand. A cleaving that brings no release.

Never had she felt anything like this. She feared that she would split, that her sphincter would surely tear, that her insides couldn’t possibly take more of his length. 2 - Npc's are more aware of our romance choice - example = In Act 3, Ciri, Zoltan, Dandilion and Triss/Yen (depending on romance choice) sitting round a table chatting and playing gwent----> They comment on Geralt and Triss/Yen romance here.

3 - More Dialogue on the boat in Act 3. We think there really should have been some sort of minor confrontation between Yen and Triss for the last 2 years, atm only Geralt gets shouted at.

4 - Brief dialogue with Triss at Kaer Morhen when we bring back Ciri and before the battle.

5 - We feel that Triss and Ciri should have an interaction highlighting the Big Sister bond. - example = On boat in Skellige or in Chameleon they talk about Vesemir and the lodge

None of the things you listed is there, and as you can see.
