I'm saying it's because a lot of token makers in druid are also spells. Violet teacher, another popular token generator, synergizes with playing a lot of spells. Roots, wisps, PotW, hell even angry trees are all token makers that are also spells.

It just makes sense. I wouldn't say it's a desperation card as much as it's a finisher card against control decks.

The proper way to phrase this card is "Taunt. During your turn, set this minion's Attack to 1."

Balance wise, this card is super overpowered, being a 3 mana Druid of the Claw (a class card that is already strictly better than Fen Creeper for 5 mana).
This is a neutral card that has a ridiculous amount of attack and health (look at squirming Tentacle, Ironfur Grizzly) for what is practically a non-penalty. The reduced attack on your turn is irrelvant when this minion is so strong on your opponent's turn AND it has Taunt so they can't ignore it.

If you want to preserve the "soul of the card" (statline) start by flipping WHEN this minion has the crazy high stats.
By being a 1/6 Taunt on your opponent's turn you can get away with having this be a 4/6 on your turn because then it would function more like V.Doomsayer/Mogushal Warden for less mana and a harder activation condition. You could even think of it like a +1m +1/-1 Doomsayer with an ability that threatens to mop up the board like that

The assumption is that the "minion's attack is set to 1" debuff would be removed and the attack would reset back to 4, since there hasn't been shown to be a way for cards to only remove an attack debuff, only apply one.

Can't really defend someone's bad design there. Looking at the wording of the card it should be a 1/6 that sets attack to 4.

Strategy question for /hsg/.

Playing Miracle Rogue, and I had a board of concealed/buffed minions against a Priest with 8 cards in hand. The minions were lethal regardless of any healing. It was only turn 6 or so, I wanted to close out the game early so this push used all of my resources.

The Priest had Auchenai/Circle, cleared my board, and populated his own. I hadn't seen Auchenai Circle yet so I was banking on him not having it. I ran out of gas and lost the game.

Did I misplay by making an all-in push against the Priest? Should I have gone a different route and played the long game? There was no real reason for me to push for lethal so early, I guess, other than the fact that I know the Priest will eventually win if the game drags out.

I guess this brings up the bigger question of when do you choose to stop playing around a particular card? When is it okay to force them into a position where they need that particular card or they lose the game? In this case, Auchenai/Circle was the only thing in his deck that saved him from lethal. I was essentially forcing him to have it, or lose the game... and it didn't work out in my favor this time.

No, stop right there. There hasn't been a minion that changes stats based on the turn cycle yet that is also an Aura minion.
The only minions that change based on turn cycle are ones that apply a buff or set their stats to a specified number.
You can't expect a minion to work like that if there's never been one printed like that. If you're going to print shitty OC, make it consistent with the real mechanics we already have.

The reason people play azure drake and Sparkles bitch is because of Shaman. Shaman is prevelent at rank 10-legend. You need a way to efficiently remove a totem golem. Arcane blast is what does it. Flame cannon is gone. Hell, you can arcane blast a 4 mana 7/7 and walk a sparkle bitch into it. The higher you go, the more aggro you're going to face and you're just not equipped to deal with it. If you really want to play cabalists tombs for funzies then I'd recommend cutting 1, cutting conjurer, a polymorph and running atleast 1 more sparkle bitch, azure drakes and maybe a torch. I can't say how good firelands is, I've never run it.

The battlecries and deathrattles of cards in hearthstone are not uniformly coded, and that goes for aura effects too. Yogg druid and tempo mage are the big ones while control warrior, tempo warrior and control shaman(it has phases where it comes up now and again) can frequently be seen using it. Priest uses it a lot in wild and when people dare to play priest in standard. Like I said, basically any deck that plans to hit ten mana can use it very well. It doesn't take a special deck to get a board clear and some additional value from yogg consistently. Haven't had an Aura that sets a statline yet (I'm assuming you can only do that with Attack cause with HP that would be stupid broken).
The closest example would be Lightspawn, which sets it's Attack to be equal to HP one. Instead of buffing Attack you have to buff it's HP.

But that's wrong, yogg only becomes consistent when you run lots of spells. If you play yogg and you only used like 6 spells, you are not very likely to get a board clear. You can't just slap him into a deck that plans on reaching ten mana.

That's the case with tempo mage, but fairly sure J4ckie actually built Yogg Druid around Yogg.

Never seen it, maybe once in control shaman, but that's it

Also Yogg Hunter and Priest aren't competitive decks
