Added the option to turn in 1 or 100 prize medals for exp. He'll ask right after you answer base or job exp.

Turns out the exp trade in is extremely high, like ridiculous, so I'll nerf it tomorrow or before bed, likely by a lot but I need to think about just how much so it's still worthwhile.

For now I cut the drop rate of medals to 1/3rd of what it was.

I knew adding such an easy way to get medals was gonna be trouble. But oh well. inb4 entire server is 99/70, even alts.

Most things, if not all, have already been soloed at some point. Most of the time you'll need a party though.

You can definitely kill a few MVPs here and there if you're high enough but the harder ones need a party.

It was definitely a lot of exp, it was flat 325k per turn in.
Since it doesn't scale with level it's going to be hard to balance out the exp.
If Devfag puts a minimum requirement to use them, maybe level 85+ then I'd say a 50% exp reduction would suffice since he's also going to reduce the drop rate of Prize Medals.

Yeah exp does scale. Job exp even scales differently based on your job.

Now I did the math and you currently need 1538 medals for 98-99 as a normal job, and 5280 as trans.

And I think as an essentially free, on top of monster exp source, that's pretty good. Though I might make them give _a bit_ more for trans jobs.

I do not want medal farming to replace normal levelling. In fact I just added the medal drops because people have been wanting a way to get their hands on lvl 4 weapons and this just seemed like the perfect solution since you can passively gain medals just playing the game, be it grinding or hunting for gear.

ToS is horribe but still somehow enjoyable. Ideas alone with world, audio&visuals, class system are great, but game is held back by horrible coding, lack of optimalization (framerate drops make you want to kill yourself and make any endgame content like big scale PvP or world bossing barely bearable) and incompetence of staff (breaking stuff during every maintenance, awful decisions).
Constant handholding by game making it linear as fuck with barely memorable quests you spcae through is also shit design, but if they fixed technical issues it'd be just like other linear shit games, aka bearable.

Idling on rooftops is as comfy as warming pront tiles with your butt in RO.

I found the class system to be one of the worst offenders in ToS, mostly because the balance is fucked and the whole "mix and shake" doesn't really apply considering chances are you're going to go specific builds unless you want to waste your time.

Balance is slightly different issue. You can have lack of balance between classes in games like RO as well.

The only "meh" thing about ToS class system is that it's rarely worth getting only C1. Since start of the game lot of stuff changed, people found out stuff so it kinda turned into C3 fest with rare exceptions. It's natural that everything slowly leads to metagame and people try to minimax to get that slight edge over the others, it's like this in every MMORPG.

Actually I think wizard tree is one of the better designed ones. You pick your main role (damage dealer/support/PvP gimmicks), then you have some choice in classes that have synergy. For example if you go support, you can go chronolinker or cryochrono, maybe get one support class and then summoner to make your summons fight for you. In offense you go for wiz3ele3 for AoE or wiz3whatevernecro2 for nuking. Wiz3link1sorc1necro2 is actually nice balance between damage and summons.

Swordman has less choices due to weapons. Weapon switching in this game is horrible and classes with synergy happen to line in a way that makes it rather easily to focus on certain weapon type. I also feel like it has less supporting options and tanking in this game sucks so there's also this issue.

Archer has lots of C1 wonders so both C1 and C3 approaches often work. It still has classes like Musketeer that stand out weapon wise, locking you into only few skills or forcing to constantly swap weapons so fewer classes synergize with it.

No idea about clerics, never checked it throughly, buff cap is shit design and their offensive classes apparently idnd of suck and are held back by hammers with low atk.

Also if game will have 10 ranks, you'll be able to get 3 circle3 classes. So you pick role and adjust it with 3 choices to your playstyle liking.

Picking few C3s of low ranks could be a bit troublesome later (cryochronolinker for example, but mainly visible in damage dealing classes) because high ranks have skills with higher damage, but their damage mechanics despite all it flaws works well here minimizing damage gap here. With flat damage insetad of % damage after some time stats and gear atk makes up majority of damage so damage difference from skills isn't that big. But still you're probably better off picking lining C3s like rank1-2 C3, then rank 4-5 C3, then R7-8 C3 and maybe always ending it with R10 or some C3 that happens to be at R10. Unless R10 classes will also have circles, artifically increasing rank count to 12.
