As someone who's considering getting back into the game for Legion (and hasn't played since the end of WotLK) and would get that fairly nice boost to 100 for a character, is there anything you all might be able to recommend starting with?

Obviously, I missed out on 3 new races (4 with the DH naturally) but I'm concerned that I'm going to be a ton out of touch with mechanics. I wouldn't mind trying out any of the races I missed out on but I'd prefer a class that does DPS (as I'm not confident I'd be able to properly heal or tank being away for so long)

My main before I left was an Elemental Shaman and while I probably will pick it back up, I don't plan on using the boost on that character. I'm leaning towards playing one of the new races that I missed so if there's any recommendations, I'd really appreciate it.

I've been leveling on dalaran and it's alright, it's currently the only pve realm marked for new players so leveling zones are a bit populated right now, and trade chat is pretty populated during peak hours but goes dead late at night. For stormrage queues almost never happen these days, they probably will at legion lauch but they'll be back down within a week.

But if you want to go proudmoore though, then go there I've played on the "official gay" server in other mmo's before (I still play on faerie in xiv) and I've honestly never noticed them being any different from other servers most don't advertise it.

I just do BWD and BoT for the 1.5k~ you get, takes about 40 minutes to clear both, not really worth doing much more since they nerfed the gold bosses drop.

If I wanted more gold I'd do the WotLK raids ontop of all the cata stuff, just clearing Wrath + Cata content and vendoring everything should net you about 5-6k, the problem is Wrath raids tend to take much longer to clear.
