I actually prefer using the oficcial poser mainly because limb manipulation is much better. It doesn't break the limbs and shows the pivots you can rotate around. What it lacks is maid's clothing editor(you can still dress/undress them though) and being able to spawn objects like articles of clothes. Visual tweaks are the same as in MM, it saves the scene and poses too.

Installed CM3D2, updated to 1.3.5, and applied the HF patch today. When I open it I just get a black screen and blank dialog box.

I did try playing vanilla 1.0 but the screen was entirely black past the main menu except for the UI. The graphics would show up if I dragged the corner of the window to resize but would go away immediately. I'm using Ubuntu since the new Windows update basically wrecked my computer.

That's a little bit more complicated, but it's possible. It's like this...

The thing that makes everything in Hongfire's Patch work is a file called Assembly-CSharp.dll which is located in "CM3D2\CM3D2x64_Data\Managed".

When you run Reipatcher, the program changes the paths in Assembly-CSharp.dll to point to the files added by the patch. And it changes them based on what's in Reipatcher's "CM3D2\ReiPatcher\Patches" folder(and guided by Reipatcher's .ini files.)

So to get everything working without reinstalling you have to set it up so that when Reipatcher runs, everything's configured correctly. That means having a clean, unaltered Assembly-CSharp.dll file in "CM3D2\CM3D2x64_Data\Managed", making sure to remove or rename "CM3D2.ModPriority.Patcher.dll" from "CM3D2\ReiPatcher\Patches"(this is handled by the sybaris_setup.bat linked to in the guide), and having the proper .ini configuration files in "CM3D2\Sybaris" and "CM3D2\ReiPatcher\". Also, you'll need to make sure that the folder "\Sybaris\Plugins\Managed" exists(also handled by the .bat file.)

Assuming all of the configuration files are in place, and a clean Assembly-CSharp.dll is located "CM3D2\CM3D2x64_Data\Managed", you'd then run sybaris_setup.bat and it'll create a new Assembly-CSharp.dll that supports HF Patches' files. As long as Assembly-CSharp.dll is patched correctly, it won't matter if it's a new install or not. You just have to make sure that the files from the old install don't mess up the needed configuration when you patch.

Please make a backup before you attempt it.

HF patch hold your hand and do everything for you, that means when it shits itself you are left with bugged craps you don't how to fix and have to wait for god-know-how-long till people release new update. Manually install everything let you know structure of the mods and plugins so I you can troubleshoot problems yourself when they arise. Also many good plugins and mods are not compatible with HF patch (MM, Kupa, some features in yotogi ulity, etc)

I installed Sybaris, and put the English translation standalone into Sybaris' Unityinjector plugin folder like it said I should, and Sybaris seems to run with two noticeable errors.

For one, several lines are complete gibberish. I suspect this is unicode reasons but it doesn't seem to actually impede anything. Secondly, anything I type in the game is responding as a command in the log window, so whenever I press A, especially when entering a name, Maid fiddler always pops up.

How do I unfuck this? Also English trans isn't working properly, did I install it right with Sybaris?

Yes. However, you'll have an easier time installing everything listed under Reipatcher in the launcher and removing the things you don't want manually later.

You can leave it as it is. HF Patch doesn't touch the Sybaris folder. You may need to move some plugins around later, but you can keep your Sybaris folder as is until it's time to configure it.

Alright, got some new problems. Unsurprisingly, it was after I installed the hongfire patch's reipatcher and Unityinjector and what not.

Firstly, opening the game now throws me about two JP errors and one about Yotogi class, then puts me at this screen.

Running the sybaris_setup.bat eventually stops with a red error saying it cant find a csharp.dll in Sybaris. What do I do about that?

You can try putting a clean Assembly-CSharp.dll in "\CM3D2\Sybaris\Plugins\Managed\" and running the script again, but the problems you mentioned are unrelated.

You're not trying to install the 32-bit version are you? Rather than try to pinpoint what's causing the unrelated error you might be able to save some time by trying again from a working, fresh install of the base game.
