IIRC Kronos II was made shortly after Nost went down to deal with the large influx of people looking for a new server to play on. The first Kronos has been around for longer and as a result has more endgame content available to it, but good luck finding anyone around your level to do elite quests and dungeons until you hit max.

Well Nihilum hasn't had a full raid yet, so no problem there either. We've had like 38 in raid the last three or four weeks.

If you have friends that want to raid as well it's not hard at all. With two people you can throw caution to the wind as you can take out pretty much almost anything your level that isn't an elite. And if, by some divine miracle, you manage to have 4 other friends who want to raid AND are all able to play at the same time as you, you can probably just run dungeons and get to level 60 in less than two weeks.

Solo leveling on a new character with no welfare from higher level character is what separates the boys from the men. It forces you to play to your class's strengths to kill quickly and minimize downtime as well as to pull hostile mobs carefully so don't bite off more than you can chew. It's hell, but for me it's a hell that keeps the game interesting, knowing that death is always just around the corner.

Kronos I also had a population of about 800 max, during prime time EU weekend hours, roughly 3 months before the Nostalrius shutdown. Chero enabled over 5 weeks of x7 experience rate for an Anniversery event which siphoned off a lot of Nostalrius players who were unhappy with the Chinese bugfuckery going on with their server. Kronos I server easily doubled its pop to the 1.6 to 1.8k mark on primetime EU hours, weekends, but at the cost of a bloated number of level 60's floating around.

Then Nost died and holy shit was it a horror show when everyone ran over to Kronos, Chinese farmers included.

With the dust having settled, Kronos II is the superior server as it's more 'pure' without a x7 exp event ever having happened and numerous Chinese guilds getting shitcanned from both servers before damage could really happen.

Combat is of course the best, but I prefer to use the Supermacro addon and make a one button fighting macro for snoozefest questing and leveling.

First 2 points into Improved Sinister Strike, next 8 points into Malice 5 and imp slice and dice 3. The reason is so I can attack a mob with SS, go instantly into a 1 CP duration of improved slice-dice, build up 3 more CP, and Eviscerate before the duration ends.

Riposte is a goddamned amazing leveling talent (and PvP talent vs warriors in shit quest gear in mid levels) and if you skip it you better have a DAMNED good reason. It's so efficient, it just plain wins.

End spec at 60, assuming the use of Swords and that you just turned 60 and used this path for the level route on up.

Kronos 1 has been up since nostalrius started I think, old server that went through a 7x exp event to try to catch up with Nostalrius population, it did badly, when nost died alot of people emigrated to k1, server started lagging, people left, k2 was created to be the new fresh server for nost fags and others, k1 is getting ready for the Ahn Qiraj, k2 is getting BWL in a few weeks

I played from launch, for the first 2 or so months, as a warrior of their pvp server and it was a complete buggy mess. My understanding is that it got slightly better over time though.

1. Pride and bad PR. If they release legacy server they basically admit that their current version of the game sucks and that their 10 years of developement only has made the game worse.
Most of the people that created vanilla WoW has left the company, so the people working for blizzard RIGHT NOW are literally the reason WoW turned to shit. Legacy would make them sad.

2. Is the money they'll earn worth the bad PR? They got Hearthstone, Diablo, Starcraft, Overwatch and Heroes of the Storm. Releasing legacy server might affect their other games.

3. Legacy servers might steal players from live WoW, splitting the community and might even decrease their playerbase since a lot of players like Kungen doesn't really like vanilla. They would try vanilla but quit after 2 weeks and then maybe even quit live WoW.

I don't think legacy will happen and if it did they would probably wait until current wow had less than 100k subscribers. Keep in mind that blizzard would still fuck it up, they can't help themselves to add useless shit cuz "it's 2016 we need something new XDDD".
Expect achievements, transmog, dungeon finder, arenas, funny pets, funny mounts, goblins, draneis, blood elfs, pandas, worgens, monks, death knights and other kinds of garbage additions they've made over the years.

My theory is that, like you said, they're holding it until WoW really starts to go down the shitter. Once they get to the point where even a new xpac isn't enough to entice players back to the game, they'll drop the legacy servers as a last ditch effort.

All of that post is spot on. To add, one aspect that people often overlook is that the main buyer of chinese gold/boosts are other chinese. The other buyers are a great perk, but always 100% of the time when you have a large chinese population it's going to involve a huge amount of cheating.
In chinese games (and to an extent other asian games as well) and especially time-intensive mmos, it's considered almost "dorky" to actually grind shit or farm shit yourself when you can just pay for it. That mindset is even worse now with the new chinese middle/upper class. Their culture has never had a gaming/social "taboo" associated with buying gold or paying a dude to play your character, at least not the same way we do. On nost in particular, many chinese caught buying gold had no idea it was even a big deal. They don't know it's cheating because it's fucking normal as fuck for them. They often have difficulty even understanding why we'd have an issue with it.

There is way more to it regarding the differences in "gaming culture" between east/west, but it makes me feel like a huge faggot even typing "gaming culture" in a sentence so i will stfu. But it is interesting if nothing else once you look into it.
Bottom line is a server needs to take steps against mass chinese invasion. You'll always get some gold farmers and sellers, it's just how it works. But the REAL buyers are chinese and once you get a large chinese population, it's fucking over.

I think it would happen sooner than 100k, the writing has been on the wall for WoW for quite some time. I watched a stream from a guy I know and he was using a script while targeting a mob and it would generate text as if he was pasting an item link into wow, but instead it was showing the loot that mob would drop. He was the only person that could see the info, like when you paste in an item link, and it was accurate 100% of the time. I didn't think this was possible mainly because I thought a mobs loot was determined upon its death. But he did this in WPL until he found 3 mobs with BOE rares, and when I logged on he linked them to me and put them in the trade window to confirm it.

He was using a macro to do this, so I couldn't see the text that it contained, but he wants to sell the macro to me for $100. It seems like a decent investment if I can find tons of BOE rares and epics. The only problem is that he might be selling it to others - me might have even bought it from someone else. So if things get too suspicious then I imagine the kronos team might keep an eye out for it. If one guy gets banned then they can use that script to ban anyone else who uses it. Also it might be a scam, but the worst case scenario is that I do a chargeback.
