about procerudal generation, is it actually always something else? so when i start a new game, will i find different planets in different orders, or is the procedural generation just active on your first playthrough?

It means that everything is generated by complex algorithms based on seed numbers. Since those numbers remain the same the result will be the same so the planet you found at a specific location will always be there and the mountain you found down there will too.

you mine stuff, sell stuff, go to the next planet and repeat

all the settlements/buildings look the same, NPCs look the same and dont do anything, ruins look the same, 'portals' look the same and dont do anything, space stations are all the same, caves are all the same.

Even most the creatures look similar, or just look stupid. Plus they dont do anything. Theyre either aimlessly walking around and dont interact with each other/anything around them, or youll find one that occasionally runs at you. I hoped they might interact with each other like in the trailers, but nope.

ive played about 20 hours (despite all my complaints) hoping that it gets more interesting as you get closer, but it really doesnt at all

Theres potential, and with decent content updates, and maybe somewhere down the line a multiplayer aspect, it could be good. But right now its just boring and repetitive.

I hope all you PCguys get a better version, similar to the gameplay that we saw early on.

But if you brake it down, its more like a wallpaper that use cloning small pictures.

Even the animals are very much just earth animals and feel not so varying than you would expect.

is the short burst bolt caster the best? It seems to turn it into a bullet hose light machine gun with sticky aim. Not what I was expecting from the name but it melts through sentinels

So some questions. I'm trying to avoid learning too much because I feel like this game is better spent not knowing everything, but I do want to know a few things.

Are the alien races finite or procedurally generated? I'm here learning a shitload of alien words for a species, which is actually kind of fun, but at the same time if this is one of an endless sea of aliens and I'll never see them again I'm not sure if its worth it, but if there's say 30 or fewer sapient species I can see the worth in understanding a few of them.

How do I know if something is safe to sell? I have a number of green boxed items in my inventory that sure SEEM like treasures and stuff I'm expected to sell but the flavor for some of them implies they might have a use so I don't want to go selling something I'm expected to use later.

On that note -where- do I sell things? I figured I'd need to find a colony or a space station but I've found both and the colonies are locked with doors I can't break and the station so far I haven't really found anyone I can communicate effectively with.

Basically any structure that has a landing pad has a market vendor.

You'll also randomly find waypoints with a single floating orb bot. Those are market vendors.

Space stations have market vendors too.

The only things you really "NEED" to keep are Korvax Convergence Cubes and Vy'keen Daggers, cause you can sometimes trade them for items or other shit from Korvax or Vy'keen. I haven't met the Geth yet so I don't know what item they'll trade for.

And you should also always keep one Geth Charm on you... For good luck, ya know.
