I'm thinking about making an edit to /hg/ Island, with multiple weapons placed in the map in case someone wants to pose with a specific weapon. Also i'll try to place reference points or something like that to place camera in the right place for multiple shots, like a rail with markings i guess.

The artstyle pre and post 343.
Hexagons used to be exclusive to Covenant, and some Forerunner which Covenant tech was made from, stuff. But when 343 took over, it was shoved into literally everything, even the 343 logo when you boot up the game.
Some people go "b-but the bubble shield had it in 3" and forget that the bubble shield was brute tech, and other whine that "human shields had them" when they forget that human shields were stolen covenant tech.

I disagree, m8, I thought the Forerunner trilogy did an excellent job characterizing the Forerunners as well as both introducing the Precursors and revitalizing the Flood as an entity to be utterly feared.

I don't see anything wrong with providing explanations or expanding upon elements as long as it's done well. Someone playing through the games in order will still feel the same awe and fear toward the Forerunners and Flood.

The Covenant we fight in Halo 4 and was founded on backwater Sangheili colonies whose aesthetic closely mirrored that of more traditional Sangheili design, as opposed to Prophet-mandated mainstream Covenant armor, weapons, vehicles, etc.

In Halo 5 both the Covenant and the Arbiter's factions have begun full-scale production of new variations of all equipment. It's why all the vehicles and many weapons look different; they're now of entirely Sangheili design.

Easier and simpler to just use Halo 4's design. Less resources needed to use two different ones. H5 model already finished before H2A's. All the above and/or some others.

I mean using one game's models in another. Besides, that model was only used in a cutscene. It would be even weirder to have one Arbiter for H5's Blur cutscenes and another for its gameplay/regular cutscenes.

I generally don't consider CE and H2 when it comes to comparing Elites, since the lower graphics make it more difficult to hold them side by side. I did always like that the CE Elites had closed jaws. It always bothered me how they worked until 343 gave them a more sensible gullet.

I imagine it'd be fairly easy, considering how much weight an Elite's feet would have to support. It makes sense that a heavy creature would have large, splayed feet with prominent inner padding to support it.

They've always had big hoof feet and muscles, though. And hunching over has always given them a bulky appearance, while an upright Elite looks much slimmer and lithe.

Halo 4 had a few decent tracks but it's still mostly techno/electronic stuff. I have nothing against that kind of music, I loved the ME1 soundtrack and that was mostly techno, but everything about 1-3's OST was just perfect, it set the perfect tone of this ancient, almost sacred place built millennia ago by these seemingly god-like people. But with 4, it just sounds like ever other sci-fi game to me. They even show the Forerunners but I feel they didn't do them justice.

So what was the point in that key thing Halsey gets in Spartan Ops but then splits in half, I don't remember it appearing in Halo 5 unless 343 forgot it existed.

There's actually somewhat of a canon explanation.

The Forerunner Saga made mention that the Halo facilities were somewhat unique in design, most notably, in their conservation of hardlight structures. In contrast, most Forerunner facilities and constructs made very liberal use of the stuff. The Librarian also explicitly noted that the Didact had pimped out Requiem after he went nutso, which is one reason why there's that shiny "off" texture some people mention when they talk about the environment: the whole place uses excessive use of hardlight instead of actual metal.

As for constructs, armor, etc. I'd chalk it up to being the preferred Warrior-Servant aesthetic, over Builders and Lifeworker constructs we've witnessed in 1-3.
