Max Hoberman's team left bungie after Halo 2 was released.

They made most of the Halo Reach DLC as well as almost all the Halo 4 and Halo 2 Anniversary maps.

They didn't make any Halo 5 maps and what a surprise! Halo 5 has abysmal maps.

I never liked construct myself for this reason. Halo 3 only had a few maps at launch I would say we're worth playing, and even then they were pretty games mode specific like 1 flag on high ground.

Forge maps were a mistake. You can probably count the number of decent forge maps from 5 in matchmaking on one hand, counting Breakout maps as well.
So far I have three, and they're all exclusive to Breakout. And I don't even know the name of one of them.

It really is a shame about none of the 343 maps serve a purpose or really have anything outside of them.
The most one of those maps does is Riptide, with a whale outside. There's no giant waterfall with sentinels in the distance giving you the idea that you're below the campaign level. There's no glass floor or outside deck showing that you're in a super-high tower, or super-high tower 2 Citadel boogaloo. Nothing like that.

I'm biased as shit about it, but it think it's pretty good. A lot of gameplay variety, pretty much all of the added features are really fun to play with, and decent enough graphics.

You don't like how a map plays so its bad? Only retards camp with the sword and only retards get killed by someone who camps with the sword. Theres an overshield underneath, maulers in the same building AND windows to throw grenades through.

No one runs the rockets straight away to avoid the nades, so again if you get killed there you're a fucking retard. There's also the camo, which can help you grab the rockets if they're still nailed down. Snipers aren't a massive issue unless you have someone who is pretty good with one on the opposite team and even then theres is enough room to manoeuvre since the map isn't one open wide space.

I'm not a fan of the >youre just bad meme BUT you actually sound pretty bad. Also its funny you have to spend time in paint to point out pretty moot points on a map that is about as widely regarded as a fan favourite

Certainly not. Not only are supercarriers much more powerful, even some standard Covenant carriers are about a match for it. That's not even getting into the Brigantines that the SoS uses.

The only reference I could find that described how they police a solar system was this:

Halo 5 has no equivalent of Zanzibar/Last Resort, High Ground, Powerhouse, etc. Maps like these would be perfect for things like 10-player Social Slayer, or 12-player Multi-Team, if 343 felt like including them.

Given that people happily blow money on req system and by all accounts it has been very profitable I don't really see it getting better.
The fact that most previous halos had better map selection at release (all official maps) than Halo 5 will a year after release is pathetic.
The whole "free updates"/no map pack benefit of req system falls flat when the content is fan made, more reqs, and/or filling in gaping holes from release.

The fact that we had no BTB on release and a year after release we still only have fan made BTB maps with the wrong starting weapons just confirms in my mind that req system is a cancer that will forever plague Halo going forward. I can't wait to see what they sacrifice to focus on it in Halo 6, or maybe it will just infect every aspect including arena and campaign.

There's always been a big disconnect between official lore and game lore.
