Why does the addition of a silencer mean it becomes a primary weapon? I wouldn't have swapped for this shitty gun if I knew it was a primary.

And he wants to charge 10 times the price for something you can find easily. These unique weapons are pretty shitty so far, no idea why people keep them. Silencers don't even deteriorate from what I can see.

Also what should i do with all this weight.

hopefully you have an older save that doesn't crash, else you're out of luck. did you get your outstanding tasks over 5-6? if so, that's probably why. i finished the mod no problems, but completed every side quest as soon as it popped up.

if you do have to restart, try amk autumn instead. it's got most everything in aa2.1 plus amk and amk blowouts and doesn't have save problems

Save corruption in AA2.1 usually happens due to too many active tasks. Pretty sure the page tells you to keep <5 tasks at all times.
Pre 2.1 didn't have this problem apparently.

Atmosfear in CoC does suck worse than in any other game for whatever reasons. Especially the broken fog implemented as dropped render distance or some similar shit. There's proper fog in AA2.1 for SoC, why not in CoC? Weather also sticks across saves in SoC but not in CoP/CoC.

This mod is so confusing, at one point it spawns a RPG when it's the worst possible fucking time to pick it up and hides it so it's invisible, at other point it puts a undroppable, massive quest item that weighs more than a pseudogiants left testicle in the place absolutely everyone checks for an OP weapon.

Completely useless. Grenading their comrades, and standing around while the monster gets close. I had to fall out the train to attempt getting away.

I think that even without artefacts or suit bonuses the bleeding, rupture, etc are too rare. So getting the bonuses to reduce them isn't really worth it. Bulletproof must be best.

Sometimes they're just in a fucking artificial difficulty spot, like in OGSE's x16 where they spawn in a 2x5m room right next to you. Sure you should run away but good luck doing that without getting zombified. If you fight controllers that happen to get dropped in BS spots like it happens sometimes, you're fucked since they tear off your weapons and keep attacking you with noise rock.

But it's satisfying as hell to sit on a hill near bloodsucker village, wait the cunt out and just snipe him although he's fucking with your aim constantly.

I don't understand why fast travel would be good in free roam games. Free roam by definition implies resources are diverted from elsewhere towards the world and journeying. Imo, there should be some sort of limited fast travel. Not enough to take away the exploration aspect, but enough so that travelling around the zone is far less tedious.

The main annoying thing i've found is transferring gear between safe areas. I'd like to check out new areas and still be able to stash some of my gear at a different place, rather than lugging my items half way across the zone every time i want to switch bases.

That would only happen if fast travel was available very often. The ideal way to implement it is that it's only possible at safe areas, and even then it'll cost money. Maybe the places you can travel to would be faction-dependent, and you'd have to visit the area first or something.

I can't say I disapprove of diversity. There are some unrealistic additions like .50 cal sniper rifles, but it's a game. Much easier to mix things up when you have so many choices. As far as freedom goes: I always thought that freedom=America/west and Duty=Russia. They also apparently have "support from the west". It makes sense for them to carry NATO shit if so. The only way I've found to make a progress barrier was to triple the price of toolkits and have traders sell the toolkits at 250-350 times the price. Making the basic kit cost 200.000 and the calibration tools 1.000.000. Then you can actually sell artifacts and mutant parts to the scientists while looting all the money NPCs have and it actually takes a while to buy all the toolkits.

In the AO3 version the toolkits costs next to nothing and I could easily buy both of them within 2 days.

I tried 3.1 recently and I just played it as a run&gun shooter. I never replaced Streloks AK-74 since it's accurate, fast and easy to handle enough to get 3 headshots in before the sight climbed out of the targets head.

Eventually I got pretty bored with it and edited the files to let me use 20 artifacts at the same time. So when I went to x-10 I had 60% to bullets and could repair the suit by simple standing in campfires or electro-anomalies due to having over 100% to fire and electrical damage.

Beat the vanilla game and ignored the extra stuff added by it since after becoming the god of the zone I'd gotten bored of it.

Artifacts, for starters. I don't see how such terrible stats and low value went past quality control. They're a big part of the series. In misery however, fire and acid anomalies are not worth your time. Active anomaly damage is insane (which is fine), but passive damage is waaaay too punishing, both to your health and gear. They had to nerf them to get them in line with their design. But considering how much they've nerfed them, one might think they don't fit in the design at all. They need better vendor value, and some stat changes like lower weight and giving actual protection.

The prices in general aren't about tough economy, or difficulty at all. They're prohibitive. Insane pricing on calibers like 12.7x108 is completely understandable, but buying just about anything is expensive - something I would understand if the stuff actually looked scarce. In both my 2.0 and 2.1 playthroughs I saw that everything hinges on the hobo phase in terms of balance. After a while, the resource pressure disappears as supplies are found more often, and all you're left with are weird prices. I'd tweak those.

I'd remove the weapon variants like rusty and modern, and tier weapons by how accessible they would logically be instead. The resistance of the head bone should be restored to default. How calibers compare to one another needs to be made realistic, same with weapons themselves.

I like how medkits work, but the health restoring drugs are to common for the change to matter. Supply drops should be made more scarce, so that you actually do what the developers wanted: buy stuff. Enemies should drop more ammo however.

Visuals are very subjective; I don't really mind them, but you are doing your eyes a huge favor by changing the UI.

The actors performance should be rebalanced to match both reduced drug supply and just general realism. Higher weight soft cap, and lower hard cap. Running should take less stamina. Remove the UI animation for food. Classes should go.

I agree wholeheartedly about artifacts, i never use them in Misery. They're way too heavy for me to even consider, and the effects aren't much.
I do like the prices, though. I like having to grind for stuff early game, though eventually you'll pass that phase and prices aren't a huge deal.
Weapons need some improvements, both in looks and balancing ammo damage. I still want ammo to be as rare as it is, but make everything do a bit more damage to compensate.
And i ALWAYS improve stamina and running speed if i'm gonna play Misery, it's overkill normally. I do like the classes though. They just need some balancing, specifically recon, its much weaker.

Hopefully some of the general improvements will be coming with 2.2, i haven't looked at the planned changes in a long time.

They really fucked up anomalies/artifacts, though. I find that the damage of both the anomalies and psy mutants becomes trivial at endgame, another thing I really hate about misery's balance. When 2.0 was still being hyped, I imagined hobo paradise, with SKSs and other older rifles galore. But it's balancing backfires and it becomes way to easy in the last third, and less fun, with drugs making it easy and gear being too good. Frustration is indeed a tool he wanted to use.

Reading the descriptions on the upgrade paths for example sometimes say "upgrading this lowers the recoil" but it boosts accuracy instead of reducing recoil.

The obvious thing to do if you get armor and you don't know it's properties would be to just take it to one of the technicians and let them tell you anyway. If that's the case why not just cut out the middle man and give the player fully accurate numbers to compare with.

The point is that GSC hired consultants to check some of this stuff and had writers working full-time on it. If they failed what chance does a modding team working part-time and paying for any research out of their own pocket have? The fact that they said accuracy in one of their descriptions could well be because of there being few modifications you can make to just make a weapon more accurate. Especially since the point of recoil, lighter stocks and better/more comfortable handling is increasing accuracy.

Enjoying OGSE so far. Just wish the UI was better. Also the AK74 I'm using has very noticeable clipping. When you reload you can see the end of the arm model quite clearly. I hope this is a minority case.

There's also weird design choices in the rescue Nimble quest in that there's a new third option to negotiate Nimble's release. Part of the ploy is that you go disguised as a Bandit so you get given a "Bandit Commander's Jacket" which is worth 380,000 RU and has decent-ish stats.
Of course you can choose this option, get this expensive armour for free, and then kill the bandits any way, which counts as doing it solo so you get the additional reward from Wolf.
It also raises the question of how Wolf's guys got their hands on this bandit jacket which is noted in it's own description as being "rare" and "very expensive"

Very rare, pretty dangerous. The execution's not perfect but I did appreciate the dev team putting a bit of uncertainty and fear back in the zone.

If you pay attention to the personal stories (from NPCs or PDAs), the overall picture is darker. I feel most stalkers are young adults trying to earn some capital to start / fix their life, because it's impossible to do so from normal 9-to-5 jobs in the former states of CCCP. Might be cool if you could get stat-penalties like lowered carry weight, more bleeding, lowered stamina etc. Of course this raises the obvious question how healing artifacts would work since they supposedly can heal wounds so quick that you see them close.

I like the idea in theory, at least for CoC, since that would give you more to look forward to after returning to base after a raid. A few days R&R and maybe some medical treatment, time-skipped, and your stats return to normal. It would also make time flow more realistically. If you work a lot you can easily become a legend after a week or two in the zone and this would stretch that out properly.

CoC with STCOP, copied the MP5 upgrade but changed the MP5 references to PP19, added the PP19 upgrades to the Bizon file, added #include "upgrades\w_bizon_up.ltx" to the weapons.ltx.

What am I missing here? i remember needing to add some reference to some file in the misc folder, but can't remember where. This was back in Clear Sky though, I'm not sure if CoP uses a different system.

Anyway, I managed to get it working now and have both the MP5, Bizon, UMP and PP2000 upgrades done. Some further balance tweaking should be done and then I'll move on to other weapons to give every single STCoP weapon unique upgrades.

After not playin SOC ever since COP was released, I have to say the underground is just as pants shittingly scary as it was before.
However my complaint list for ogse keeps growing
