Finally got to play F4. Holy shit, I didn't like F3 that much but F4 is a goddamn failure compared to F3.

Like I don't even care if the game is a fucking WARZONE: Boston and not a Fallout game. The dialogues and writing IS SO FUCKING BAD I don't even GALSDKVHXVALKSGJ...

And don't even get me started on the Minecraft bullshit useless SPECIAL. In 90% of the dialogues Charisma only affects the amount of caps you're gonna get for killing %enemyname%.

I hope Obsidian is going to make another "New Vegas" with the gunplay of Fallout 4 (one of the few decent things about F4).

I really like this mod.

Gives you a little house boat that has a bed, clean water, storage space, computer terminal for playing tapes on and it can travel between a bunch of different places.

I think it's ability to go all the way up the river to get to Taffington Boathouse is the best.

Yeah, TTW just loads as a (gigantic) mod for FNV, technically, so you will need FNV installed.

You _can_ use Fo3 mods with it, but they need to be converted first, and anything scripted might need to be recompiled too. A lot of Fo3 mods have a comparable version available for FNV though, which you should probably install instead; those work without issues for the most part.

All: what happened to the buildable food planters that were in an earlier beta for the Vault-Tec workshop? I was going to do some work against those with a mod of mine, but then I noticed that they are gone from the final release. Does anybody have a copy of the old beta (or alpha I guess?) for the Vault-Tec workshop?

the exploring is driven by the settlement building; if you don't enjoy the settlement building chances are you wont explore the rich locations of the commonwealth in order to scavenge more building materials

the DC metro isn't actually that big a dungeon; you're just forced through it every time you need to go somewhere in the DC area.

I made a second one to connect Red Rocket to Abernathy farms and he got moving immediately, so I took my first guy SH-RR and recruited him as a companion, walked to Sanctuary Hills, then dismissed him and set him to supply line to Red Rocket, no problems at all now.

Is there a way to expand the buildable area on my own? I have a mod that is supposed to do it, and it works really well on most settlements. But at Starlight Drive in I go to autoexit Workshop as soon as I walk out of the little shack the workbench is built in.

Any way I can fix this?

Yeah, but you need to make a mod to do it. Just enlarge the mesh that makes the green outline, then expand the bounding boxes that overlap to form the buildable area. You might hit the cell reset bug though, so be prepared.

Yes. The only mod I could see affecting this though is Build High, which is supposed to make the buildable area bigger.

And no, holding V doesn't do anything outside the shack.

You have to do it in the CK. The green border is just a mesh that is technically independent of the actual build area. A bunch of primitives are used to actually create the buildable area in the CK, and with most all of the Bethesda ones, the overlap between those is what creates it. If you just load up the workshop area with the CK, you should be able to see all of these boxes, and they will all be linked to the main workshop anyway (the keyword is WorkshopLinkedPrimitive iirc).

I miss the playable alt characters from that old fallout tactics mod, it was fucking awesome. I wish it was integrated (and canon) in modern fallout. The midwest BOS was easily the most powerful and diverse faction in the entire fallout universe, they taking over the entire wasteland in the long run was a forgone conclusion. There's nothing wrong with doing mods while the game is in development. Hell if the game didn't stay compatible with existing compile scripts then Bethesda would have to recompile the innumerable ones they packaged in the several-gigabyte *.ba2 archives, and then patch those as well: clearly that isn't the case. The problem is that players are conflating regular mods, even scripted ones, with those that rely on the script extender, which is exceptionally volatile. Consider the fact that before FNIS came out, it was literally impossible to add new independent animations into Skyrim. This OSA framework does it in a much cleaner and more organised way, other mods are able to use it as a soft dependency i.e. it can be included into another mod and you don't need to download OSA.

So the red boat is my houseboat, it lets me fast travel between places along the coast, it's really neat.

I want to make some sort of sea port, or like seaside restaurant/castle town here in the yard in front of the Castle, both to go with my boat, and to mitigate the fact that the castle gets kinda crowded if you just shove all your settlers inside it.

anyone else feel dissapointed about the variation of body part armor? Personally I wish that fallout used more elements from bioshock, as far as horror, tense moments, dark corridors. At the same time I wish bioshock was 3rd person and open world. When I play RPgs I care more about what things do then how they look

Tier 1
-Raider: lowest resistances, most common

Tier 2

4.5 would make sense for LA.

Fallout 5 will likely be either Ronto or the broken Banks, as those are the two places Bethesda set up in Fallout 3 as being on par with The Capital Wasteland and The Commonwealth in terms of size/importance.

I like to use a variation of this where they witnessed the shooting and abduction but repressed the memory hardcore so that they have no real recollection of it, and would need something like a Memory Chamber to extract it.

Psychological trauma is a real thing after all and the fragile human psyche can "forget" life-changing shit like that easily.

They probably never even question why they're so fucked up, just get nightmares they never really remember that leaves them with an urge to crack skulls or get high (or both) when they wake up.

The key is to remember that raiders are human, and were very likely just people that got pushed too hard and decided to push back. Their shitty situation may have even justified their descent into "villainy" but it ends up becoming a lifestyle they can't (or don't want to) break out of, because while they're taking the ride they don't have to worry about what left them such a shell of a person to begin with.

Well, in the end it's pretty threadbare but you have to find your fun in Fallout 4 and sort of write your own story for it, to a point, assuming you ever veer off the main quest or start doing things that don't seem to "fit" the background outlined for Nate and Nora.

If the dirt shifted that much, the diving platform would present structural problems since the dirt could only come from one side to create that small hill.
Considering that there are no structural problems there, the dirt could not have come AFTER the diving platform was built because that would imply that the diving platform was under dirt when it was built.

So your argument that "dirt moved around" makes no sense because hills aren't created by magical dirt that falls upwards and creates hills, but instead there must be landslides, landslides that would make the hill non-existent if that was the case, but dirt wouldn't move upwards.

All those structures are unaffected by the hypothetical dust storms that created a hill under the diving platfom. The dust didn't fall anywhere else besides there, it didn't even cover the restaurant that was in a lower position than the dirt hill under the diving platform. 1. Its stated House deflecting or disarming most of the nukes is the reason why the Mojave is so well off and has clean water, however, every single town's water tower has irradiated water in it.

3. Primm, Nipton, and Novac all run off of trading with the NCR as their sole means of getting resources, however, all of these people talk as if they lived in there towns before the NCR ,making their source of food and water before the NCR odd because....

None of these towns have farms, remnants of farms, and local plant life is so scare any attempt to survive on just whats naturally growing would quickly deplete local supplies to the point they couldn't survive. Leaving the question of what did they eat before the NCR showed up 7 years ago a mystery.

5. House almost entirely destroying the Three Families tribal culture is less then a dace is highly implausible, as one cannot just remove such ingrained traditions instantly(something even Sawyer admitted was a mistake)

I also just updated Outfit studio. And holy shit this is so much nicer. It actually shows the textures now, and the long list of bug fixes makes me hope it fixes the CK crash issue as well.
