No it isn't. Getting started is the easiest part. You'll be having Katakana and Hiragana under you belt within a month if you've got a knack for it.

Then you get to the Kanji wall. Then you give up and occasionaly go back to it from time to time until you finally pick it up over a much longer period of time than any normal language with less retarded writing systems.
