I really dont understand how it could possibly take this long when it was pretty much just 1 guy from Scriptcraft building his own engine to replace mangos until he got a bunch of support recently, that he could build his own system to streamline production of the raids and make his system replicate the actual background mechanics of the retail blizz servers... and have it all almost perfect.. ready to launch but merely working out the fine details so that its absolutely perfect compared to the retail experience and no one wont be patrolling, and every quest will work besides a few that come out in mass testing...

Its not a new emulator god damn it, its still based on Mangos. Go ask him yourself, he thinks its ok to say it isn't Mangos because he has "changed so much" (like "introducing proper object oriented techniques to re-implement things.")

ToD was absolute trash outside of raids. Pre-wotlk was EXTREMELY broken. Wotlk content was playable, but still had critically broken quests, the most jarring example being that giant-riding quest in Zuldrak when my character got stuck FOR HOURS before a gm got me out of the broken phase.
ToD was a good example of a trash server that only had hype going for it. And once the hype was over - people started leaving and the server died.

If you complete the quest in 1 go - sure. But if you fail or dismount for whatever reason - you are left stuck in that phase.
More broken quests from the top of my head:
- any quest that requires using a cannon to shoot at flyers
- one of the first quests in Valgaard that involves killing mobs - they take ages to respawn
- the mustang-riding quest in Grizzly Hills, the horse spazzes-out and you need to get a new one
- the daily in Icecrown that I forgot the name of, involving the red flashing marks on the ground - not enough of them to complete the quest
- the daily in the same region that doesnt have the required mobs present
- the horde/alliance hub in Icecrown that you need to wear glasses to see - phase doesnt load, cant see npcs
And that's just the ones I remember after not playing on ToD for months.

It has better raid scripting for naxx and ulduar, better northrend questing. I didnt pvp on either so i can't say about those but gd has issues with classes double dipping talents that cause people to do more damage than they should shaman, druids, hunters, rogues included.

Elysium has had less advertising and has an even worse stigma as an "international" server than ToD did. There is no way people are going to do 1x all the way to 60 when the server has a huge drop in players after the first few weeks like most new servers do. There is nothing pushing people to stay committed to the realm to help it live through the first few months .

Gd had issues with ulduar for a long time but i haven't played it in years, last time i did naxx months ago thaddeus was unkillable. Gd has probably a better togc and icc but that's all they focus on, they break stuff in lower tier raids a lot and just don't notice or care.
Lots of quests just don't work correctly or auto complete for lore master, it is a 14x server for a reason they don't focus on many quests.

The first two are obvious enough but the real thing that is going to cuck elysium is crestfall.
Most of the people who are actively seeking vanilla either started on K2 and have now been raiding mc/ony on two servers, or are waiting for crestfall. People want to do bwl and move on, not join a new server to do the same raid tier for a 3rd time every 6 months, including leveling 1-60 again.
It's probably surprising for turbo neets here but most people hate or are shit at leveling and don't care or don't know what is broken on the server they are invested in. Elysium hasn't done anything to show that they offer a better experience than kronos, they actually so far have shown a worse one. Normies don't want to reroll to raid MC for months on another server without progressive itemization, they will probably only reroll for crestfall or if kronos dies.

Elysium is hasn't shown off its strengths and has a lot of obvious weaknesses.
