HL2 was a big disappointment. If you go play it now you'll see it hasn't aged well. It's because it was never good. HL1 though was good. But HL2 didn't have to offer much, so it was basically only a gravity gun + driving simulator.

Half life 3 will only come out when valve makes a new engine to show off. That's what big games always were, a good gameplay plus a revolutionary engine.

Thanks, anon. I too miss the early days, but I still think there's some good stuff yet to come. FNAF1 and FNAF2 have a lot of material to work with when it comes to writing, but I'm also considering trying my hand at writing another Sister Location story before the game comes out.

I first heard about it from a friend right after FNAF1 was released. I was initially grossed out by the concept (only hearing about it via word-of-mouth rather than actually sitting down and watching/playing the games) but after I did some research I quickly fell in love with the series for various reasons.
I started looking up comics and fanart and wanted more, and I found out about /5N@F/ sometime around September of '14. I've been lurking here ever since and decided to come out of hiding last year to contribute a little bit to the thread if I could, even if it was just a story or two.

I've always loved robots. I remember watching Short Circuit as a really little kid and thinking it was the coolest movie I'd ever seen. I guess animatronics are an extension of that -- I knew the characters at Chuck E. Cheese were robot puppets and they kind of freaked me out when I was little, so I was fascinated to hear about a game that employed that uncanny valley concept for horror. I also like the "blank slate" kind of feel the games have, with characters and concepts wide open for interpretation. It's less creatively stifling than something that has a very established universe and world with defined character personalities.

Regarding your spoiler, I feel it's more a matter of Red living in the past. Timmy has expressed from the beginning no qualms of accepting him into the family, but Red wants the story to go back to being, well, canon FNAF 4. If he can't get over that, Timmy's feelings for him outside of as a sex object are irrelevant. I don't think Timmy is blameless either though. Hell, I'd say what Indy did in chapter 2, while hot, in retrospect was far more cruel and fucked up than anything Timmy or Foxy have done so far in the entire story.

But even then, it's really hard to say whose right or wrong. I guess I could say Miss Yella was the least wrong morally for the simple response of realizing something was strange and locking herself up till it passes, but even that could be seen as cowardice. Mister Brown did the same thing as well, the only benefit being him coming to terms with it faster.

I'm glad you're enjoying it so far, I've struggled the hardest with this chapter by far, particularly with Mister Brown. Making a Freddy that feels fresh is challenging, and I already did one attempt by just going drastically outside of what's expected with Samantha, so I had to find a sweet spot with him. I do like him so far, he was very fun to write as an elder figure.

Also writing Foxy dialogue when he's not having his ass pounded or in extreme sexual situations is rough, having to see him as a character with actual motivations was yet another massive hurdle that contributed to the Duke Nukem Forever sized gap between chapters 2 and 3.
