I get the bug I think you're describing occasionally. Any kind of save will CTD.

Steps to fix:
1. Load an old save where you didn't have the bug (or make a new game if you don't have one)
2. Make a manual save
3. ~player.kill
4. Load the save where you crash
5. ~player.kill
6. Save

I don't know why this exact process works. I've tried variations, and they all fail. But this seems to work 100% of the time, and other people corroborate it.

If you've been adding or removing mods, though, all bets are off.

I wouldnt worry about it too much. If I had any advice its.

Morrowind uses non-retroactive health gains per level thats based on your endurance. If you want the maximum HP possible then get your endurance to 100 by level 5(4 level ups since I think you start at 80 endurance with that stat setup)

Also pick major/minor skills that your race is shit at, that way your maximum level will be higher. You can make your primary weapon longswords for example and not have it actually be a major/minor stat, that way you can control your leveling better. Keep track of your skill gains. 10 levels in a skill will mean a +5 to a stat when you level up. Ideally you should try and control leveling so you have +5 to three attributes.

Alternatively you can select endurance/luck as your class skills in which case I'd try and get +5 to two attributes and use my 3rd attribute gain on +1 luck since its not goverend by any skills. You can get to level 51 which means you can get 100 luck if you're autistic enough.
